Reinforce it then wrap it in leather or leather grain-embossed vinyl. This is the plan for mine. Actually, I plan to buy a used one for cheap from a part-out and fix it (cuz it's sure to be cracked), wrap it and swap it in in the same day to minimize downtime.
I want to see it after it's wrapped. I'm not doing that at this time to mine. If it doesn't look good when I'm done, I'll splurge for a new one and reinforce it before I install it.

No doubt I'll post before, during and after pics. I know there are some compound curves to contend with, but I'm thinking starting on the hump over the gauges will help everything else pull and stretch into place more easily. There just aren't many '07-'14 SUVs being parted out around me. I've been eying one, but I'm never in the area. I painstakingly, but successfully wrapped the headliner in my XJ with it's speaker pods, so I'm optimistic about wrapping the dash.

Said XJ headliner:

I had to wrap one of those XJ headliners, and those pods def suk to get all those curves to stay down. Came out amazing.

That's an awesome job but have you looked at a dash out of one of these? I don't see it happening but who knows.

I haven't studied one as much as the SUV dash. To me, it looks like it'd be easier. I think the problem area would be the tight radius around the gauge hump. That might call for a separate stitched piece. I'll have to check out my bud's Sierra next time he's over cuz I'm sure I'll be working on that dash eventually.

There's several problem areas, not to mention it wraps down at each end to the fuse box areas. I don't see it happening like I said. If you do it, I'd be interested to see how it comes out.

Those are the angles I haven't seen this dash from. Hmmm... It'll certainly be a challenge, but I'm still convinced it's doable. I didn't even use heat on the XJ headliner, other than the warmth it got from sitting in the sun.

I wonder if that wrap they use on car bodies is a viable option for the tight radii and compound curves?

Gonna have to put a bunch of those little relief cuts going around those curves, and pulling it tight, just to avoid that bunched up look.

I repaired the main dash today. It didn't come out as good as the dude in the video did. But mine was broken to hell by the time it came out so I guess it's OK. I really needed another person to hold the cracks together as I stapled them. And the front flat dash piece is kinda looking bad now because I tried some different stuff to try and hide the cracks and made it worse. I'm thinking I might be able to fill or not fill the cracks and use adhesion promoter and paint it. Anyway, today's progress. I'll probably end up getting new pieces, these will drive me nuts I'm sure. We'll see how it looks once it's installed. Also, like I said, I'm going to experiment with filling and painting.

Not bad tho

Agreed. Pretty good for what you're dealing with, I'd say.
Agreed, just not what I was originally thinking when I watched the video. But then when I was removing it and it kept breaking I wondered if I would be able to save it at all. It's still better than the cracks it originally had.
