I have been mulling over all kinds of possibilities for The Beast as well. LS swap into a jet boat with a blown 6.0 and part the rest out? Sell it without a transmission? Fix it and keep it? Or sell it? I just don’t know. Anybody want to make an offer? :emotions33:
The crowd around home (harkers island nc) like to put jet drives in their flat bottoms and island boats.
There’s two in particular that I’ve always loved and one is a old Hancock flat bottom painted about the same color as your “beast” with a cammed out 454 with a jet pump on it
Another is my buddy’s dad who has a old classic style island boat (inboard engine and shaft drive with rudder and prop) again with a built up 454 big cam loud exhaust just all around bad ass boat

And the headlights came in but now I’m waiting for H1 and H7 LED bulbs to replace the halogens they came with. The low beam is a projector and I’m going to leave it unmolested except to swap in the LED. I was going to see about retrofitting with the etched MH1 projectors I have but after looking at these, it looks like too much work for me at this time plus I believe these projectors look fairly decent. I’ll see. These are branded as ACANII but came in a Spyder box. It looks like they’ve been modified with a box that makes the tube do some cool routine when I apply 12 vdc. Might do other stuff, I’ll find out when it’s all hooked up to the factory harness. These feel and look quality. The adjusters look decent. I like them so far. They came with a second set of covers for the projectors that have holes in them, possibly for heat sinks if you’re doing a big bulb with a fan. The ones I ordered are 1:1 size with original bulbs so no need.

I’m also dealing with some Hawaiian Japanese Koi I just bought. They came in on an overnight flight this morning. One is a big fella at 20.5”, my biggest one. They have to stay in a quarantine tank for 2 weeks and then there will be 3 more coming and they have to do the same. I have a 150 gallon plastic stock tank that I set up with a filter. I put a brand new screen door that I don’t use on top of it to keep them from jumping out and tied it down. I just went to check and half the screen cloth was pushed out of the spline and was flapping. I think the big fellah tried to jump out and hit it so hard he pushed the screen cloth out of it. I reinstalled the screen cloth and put a piece of plywood with a couple pavers on the tank over the top of the screen door for the night. He ain’t getting out; probably angry for not eating for 2 weeks. He gets to eat tomorrow. They are beautiful fish, like artwork.

Swapping out the H1 and H7 headlight bulbs in the new Spyders with LED’s went fine with the Fahren H7’s in the low beam projectors. They have a nice sharp cutoff line. Their H1’s are a different story, as well as what appears to be with most all of them. They are clocked at about a 45 degree angle and I can’t find any with collars that either lock or have a set screw so that you can rotate them until the leds are at 3 and 9 o’clock. These are locked at 4:30 and 10:30, not ideal and the scattered beam is evidence. I’ll install the halogens if they don’t have a solution. Fahren is looking into it for me. The last 2 are the H1 high beams.

I started a build thread for the Tahoe but I want to put stuff in order there so for now I’ll post this here. I installed the headlights with LED bulbs in the projectors for low beams and halogen in the high beam reflectors because I couldn’t find H1 LED bulbs that I could orient vertically, they’re all at a 45 degree angle unless you spend $150 for a pair of bulbs. You can see the scatter on the led (white ) high beam pics.
