You bought a new one? That wouldn't be as bad as trying to fix this one, but I am not paying $550 for that thing unless I have to. I think maybe I got spoiled working on the NBS. I had that dash off in minutes! I had a helluva time getting this one off after everything was loose- it wouldn't come off from around the driver side. It seemed the column was in the way. I think that's where a couple more cracks came from. I hope if I reinforce it enough it won't crack again going in.

I bought a new one and new front piece too. They said if the front part wasn't broken, I'd probably break it when I took it off... and I did.

That's nearly $900 for those 2 pieces. You should buy some for my truck too.;)

The spare tire winch access retainer ring I ruined changing to the denali rear.... I bought one and it's very comfy in its bag in my garage. Dammit.
I thought I sent one? Or did I cheat you out of it? I'm so confused.....

Lol. Neither, just raggin ya... When I did the bumper swap you rode me about trying to reuse my old one and said c'mon it's $12, so I said "then send me one" but alas, it never came. I am, however, rocking your old red catch can! +10hp

i looked for a few months for the dash, parts sites show it for like 350ish but $175-200 to ship it. it's almost worth letting the dealer worry about getting it shipped to them and just picking it up from them.
I ended up using parts.com but the order went thru a dealership anyway, kinda sketchy i think they wanted to cancel the order a few times, kept changing shipping quote. ended up being 460 total shipped

On another note, I got a Harbor Freight gift card today. I'm always looking at class-action lawsuits at www.topclassactions.com to see if I qualify for any class-actions and I remember seeing the one against HF, stating their advertising practices were corrupt. You know, how they used to advertise comparison prices where they would say they an item had a "normally $x.xx" price but the lawsuit says they would inflate that price and had never actually sold any of those items at that price. Most times these lawsuits get me a check for $10-$20 although I've seen some decent checks. The biggest I got this year was for $472.56 from an LCD screen settlement against all the mfr's. of flat-panel displays for price-fixing. Anyway, I remember the HF one saying the expected settlement was $10 and I heard awhile back that that amount was going to be more. It's $160. Not bad. Not $472 but not bad. BTW, the deadline to file has passed unfortunately so I can't just tell you guys to go for it. If I would have known it was going to be more than $10 I sure would have said something.

The stapler just got here so I did the front piece. I'm not too unhappy, it did good but of course if you look close enough you can still see it. I set it in the truck and from inside I won't be able to see it at all. If I look at it through the windshield though I can see it. I hope I'll be ok with these repairs because the alternative is expensive. I still have to add the reinforcing and epoxy but I'll do that all at once.

Reinforce it then wrap it in leather or leather grain-embossed vinyl. This is the plan for mine. Actually, I plan to buy a used one for cheap from a part-out and fix it (cuz it's sure to be cracked), wrap it and swap it in in the same day to minimize downtime.
