I usually order my own parts from off eBay so my question is how do I choose my lifters it has a 5.3 engine in it I originally bought this vehicle to flip it but since my son doesn't have a vehicle I was thinking about fixing it and giving it to him and do they come with valve springs he suggested some type of kit really confused on this any suggestions

Hi,

I have a 2008 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid that is not driveable due to collapsed lifters and a couple other issues, including that a deer decided to do some bodywork on the left front corner around the same time. I guess when it pours it rains.

I bought it in 2018 and got to drive it for all of 2 months before it ate itself. Insurance didn't cover, and dealer bill was more than I paid for it, so I took quite a loss on it. I'm looking to recover what I can and move on. Since it's not driveable...
I hate the 3rd row design that your legs are in your nose because the seats sit so close to floor.
I thought I saw models with that issue changed and have been looking again and can't find them.

We're taking maybe getting another tahoe or yukon but the lack of head protection in 2nd row bench and then 3rd row poor comfort is an issue now as kids are older and tall.

Captains chairs are nice but then u need to use the 3rd row more and then ya get those issues.

Okay, you guys have helped me out tons with stuff. Maybe this will help newbies.

As others have said before, removing a transmission is just LOT of work. None of it is particularly hard. This comes with a couple of caveats though:

1) Get a good low profile transmission jack and test it out fully before using:

-Make sure it is properly filled with hydraulic fluid.
-Check to see how much tilt slack it has. Will the deck of the jack suddenly tip forwards once you pull the transmission...

I am trying to diagnose this transmission issue and would welcome any advice or pointing to other threads with the same issues.

Symptoms.

Driving on Freeway and noticed that the car was having what I think was slippage when accelerating. Got to my destination and left the car for a few hours. On the return journey the slipping worsened and then lost all gears and check engine light came one (engine running fine)

After about 20mins on the side of the freeway cooling down I started...

Im looking to install a catch can here soon. The one I am looking to use has a 1 way valve that auto drains to a return location. These are cans used on heavy equipment with turbos and no some cheap can and I have many of them. I thought about just running 2. Put one off each side and just Y together the drains to the pan to keep things clean and symmetrical under the hood.

My curiosity is how easy is the factory oil pan to tap for a return? Are they prone to cracking or does the cast...
