They have replaced the clock spring wire in my steering wheel and believe that was the issue. Picking it up this evening and I will post updates to let the group know how it goes.

“Some customers may comment on a Service Safety Restraints Sytem message displayed in the DIC. When checking for DTCs, a B14DC symptom 1B and or 13 will be set in the K36 Resyraints Contol Module. This DTC is for an open or high resistance in the F106DA Driver’s front seat in order airbag deployment loop”

Hope this helps.
Hope their fix actually sticks.
Good luck!

This makes sense because when mine was doing it a lot it seemed like it was when I moved around in the seat that would trigger it. What's weird is we are seeing reports of the steering wheel area with clocksprings and bag connectors as well and I find it unlikely there are this many different factors but time will tell.

Driving home and then to work today, no warning message. My Bluetooth phone connection continues to act up, though. Time will tell.

2021 z71 purchased on 09/12. Service Safety Restraint System showed up on 09/13 and continued intermittently thereafter. Took to dealership on Monday and was told "not safe to drive until fixed" and that "tape is on backorder for at least a month". So glad I spent $$$$ for this Tahoe to only end up driving a Trax loaner...should've just bought 3 of those instead...

And this is one reason I won't take mine in yet.

Just got vehicle back from repair. They said the code for my problem was “Steering wheel air bag at stage 1 has high resistance”. They replaced steering wheel airbag and air bag module. Hopefully that will take care of it. Will definitely give update if it comes back.
1 week later and all is well. Fingers crossed it will stay that way

Update: Got a call today, tape is now in and Tahoe should be ready tomorrow. Fingers crossed GM has seen enough of these to have finally figured out a fix for them and I won't be going back in with the same problem in a few weeks.

Purchased the 19th Started when I drove off the lot, In for service the 2nd time on 3rd day. Tape worked for 30 miles, now they say turned over to TAC. In my testing it's been the steering wheel. I am short so was thinking maybe because I extend the wheel all the way out and up. I was able to slow it down for a while my moving the wheel in and down some, but today was like day one and nothing helped.

Is it safe to drive the vehicle in this condition if I don’t have time for a stop ?

Did the dealer fix it? Concerned that something this new and they will not know what to do.
Wait...you’re worried the dealer won’t know what to do because it’s so new but we will? Hahahaha. Nice one. I feel so smart now. Thanks!

Just got it back yesterday, been 70 miles since, so far so good, will update after more time has passed. At least GM has a TAC case open on it now.

Purchased: 7/30/2020

1st SRS/Airbag service performed: 8/27/2020 with 865 miles
"Inspect & Cycle Driver's front seat inboard airbag connector, apply butyl tape and retest. Performed service bulletin, test drove, & didn't act up"

2nd SRS/Airbag service performed 9/4/2020 with 1007 miles
"Repaired the right side air bag in the front driver's seat, performed bulletin to repair."

Called dealership on 9/17/2020 to report SRS/Airbag warning light flashing again. Dealership said GM guidance on this issue is to now replace airbag and connector. New airbag arrived at dealership on 9/22/2020, but the connector had not arrived.
Called dealership today on 9/28/2020, connector still has not arrived. Expecting it to show up on 9/30/2020.

Looking forward to getting this issue resolved. Keep ya'll posted.
