Well, I need to change the title of the thread to include my 13 yr old daughter Molly.
Today I needed to do some work on the Yukon including replacing the passenger side outside handle, passenger side speaker and changing the oil. Molly asked if she could help change the oil, so of course I said yes. Who wouldn’t want to spend some time with their daughter working on cars? She is a very smart young lady and loves to work with tools and build things. She has her own tool bag with a basic set of tools which she uses to fix things like her bike or tighten things up in the swing set out back. I’m thinking she could give her older brothers a run for their money in that arena.

Got some more work done on the part swap between the donor truck and Joseph’s truck.
Was able to get the rear bumper off the donor truck with the use of a cut-off wheel on the angle grinder to cut the seized bolts off. Didn’t pull the one off of Joseph’s truck because they will likely need to be cut off and the local hardware store was closed.
We did get the hoods swapped today as well.

Sorry, it’s gray.Very nice!
Does the parts truck have tan interior? A guy I work with is looking for a tan dash thats not cracked
Had one for my dads 94 Astro van because he wouldn’t let me put an aftermarket radio in HAFound this under the seat of the donor truck. Who here remembers having one of these back in the day?

Made some more progress getting parts off the donor truck.
Got the tow hitch removed. (Ended up having to cut off 4 of the 6 bolts as they were pretty well seized and I was going to use new bolts anyways.)
Got the under hood trouble light removed, but didn’t get it tested yet.
Got the front seats pulled. Joseph learned a few more lessons about leverage and how to use another wrench as a cheater bar.

Will need to drill a few holes in his truck to mount the 60/40 in place of the bench, but that should be pretty straight forward.
Oh - Yes, he is keeping it. The one in the photo is from the donor truck. His truck already has one and it already has the cassette adapter in it.Wait, he's not keeping the cassette radio?![]()

Awesome work, as usual. Papa Wade!! Love to see you training these kiddos!Have had to shift from auto mechanic work with Joseph to trailer fabrication. Joseph wanted a flat bed trailer to pull behind his rider so he can haul a push mower and other lawn care accessories as he runs his lawn care business. So we have been working on making one out of some scrap steel I was able to get from work. Not finished yet, but thought I’d share what we’ve got accomplished so far. I’ve been doing the welding and he is getting the hang of cutting and grinding. It’s been a fun father/son project. Once it’s all fabricated, it will be painted red to match his rider and get a wooden deck with some side boards.
