Our '26 will regularly triple honk as if a key fob has been left in the vehicle. For example, truck is in the garage unlocked, someone opens a door without even having a key in their pocket, throws something in and shuts the door... triple honk. No rhyme or reason as to when or why it does this as sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes we get out after driving, close the door with the key in my pocket outside the truck and it will honk three times as well. Has anyone had this happen? Am I missing a setting warning of something else that also sounds like the key reminder honk?

My 2024 Tahoe Premier does something similar.

If I stop to get gas, and shut off the engine - I will get out of the vehicle with the fob in my pocket and leave the LF door ajar (so the vehicle doesn’t lock).

When I reenter the vehicle and close the LF door, the vehicle will sound the horn. At times, I think person in front of me at the gas pumps has the impression that I am honking at them to “hurry up”.

The horn-honk feature is stupid and illogical.

What's wrong with the door locking if you have the fob on you? And, can you not turn that auto-lock off?

I like the auto-door locking feature - and have it enabled on all three of my Chevrolet vehicles.

I just don’t like the vehicle to lock while I am fueling it. Usually, I will open another door and empty a small trash can I carry inside while the fuel is dispensing.

If there is extreme weather, hot or cold, and I have passengers while fueling - I will leave the engine running and not fully close the LF door.

If I have to go inside the fuel station, I will close the door and allow it to auto-lock.

I suppose we all have our habits with our vehicles. I just don’t like the honk-honk when I get out of the vehicle (engine off) and then return to the vehicle after fueling.

I like the auto lock. I keep the FOB in my pocket and when I get out to fuel it locks. In Michigan, it is illegal to fuel your vehicle while it is running.

Dealer said they found a software "anomaly" and performed a software update, claiming that fixed the issue. Clearly it did not because as soon as I stopped for fuel after leaving the dealership, I turned the truck off, stepped out and closed the door, leaving it unlocked, filled up with fuel, and then when I closed the door after getting back in the truck to leave, it triple honked again. Not sure what the logic is behind when it will honk at you, but I assume the sensors saw the key leave and doors shut when I pumped gas, then the key back in the truck with me in the drivers seat, so I have no idea why it continues to triple honk at random.
