Got the truck!
Told the new tow guy.. Need to pick it up.. Showed registration and now I'm getting new keys made at locksmith.

One thing down in a long line of things.

Great News.

Did you tell the tow truck driver the full story?
Where did he pick up the truck from?
Has your ex called you crying you a river to get it back?
What are you going to do w it, sell it?

This has been one of the most interesting threads on any automotive forum I've read in over 10 years.

Its not like she can report anything..... no ownership of the truck, insurance and an expired DL. She'd just further implicate herself......but we all have had that one crazy bish in our lives.

Nice move on the new keys/Fobs and deleting the old ones. Now take that bish, clean it up and sell it.

I hope he keeps us up to date on the drama too.
X2. Super interested to see how dumb or spiteful she's gonna be.

A simple call to Tony and the boys would have settled this crap right away. They are up front on fees and they get the job done. You may own them more later on when they need a FAVOR, but you have your rig back. This story, while entertaining, was just too much drama. He made dumb choices and decisions and she was a perfect match for him. That kid has a tough road to hold. Get your shit together and move on with your life and get the kid away from her if you can.

So he's changing the cylinder on the door? Wouldn't the old key unlock it if that's not re-keyed?

Yes, it would open it, but not start it.

If the alarm is enabled, as soon as she opens the door the alarm would go off. Get a Nest/Ring or Google camera on the driveway.........nail her for B&E; that would only help his case.

Happens right after she tells her latest boyfriend, "Here, hold my beer while I take care of this ******* I been dealing with". "He is gonna get what is coming to him."

The latest dumbass that is attached to her. "Sure babe, love you"!

Car is not in local area... Original key would still open car, insert into ignition.
Police were called after tow.
Police called back recently as they reached out. Explained the situation, they just wanted to make sure it wasn't stolen. Apparently the other party wasn't 100% sure of what happened.

Items being inventoried and notification to come pick up items is the next step.

More drama to come.
