@petethepug Onstar needs an active connection to the car before they can talk to it. That's what they told me. There is no active connection. You need to physically hit the blue button to make an outgoing call first.
@swathdiver She doesn't work... Panhandle, close to Bama state line
@Tonyrodz might need to happen
@Rocket Man I have a tow driver..he's been telling me stories... trying to get it done with him... last thing I want is to not tell them the truth, especially since they are just going to roll up, take their sweet time.. she can then hop in the car with the key and then they can't legally hook up the truck. Now, if it's hooked up before she comes out, then that's a different story, but I don't need the driver to be taking his sweet time and then all hell breaks loose.

For all those thinking it's 100% my property, it is.
For all those thinking I can just roll up in a tow truck and tow it... it's not that simple. If she gets in it before it's hooked up, they have to let it go. If I don't tell the story to them, it will give her plenty of time to come out and sit in it. Then she knows, then she hides the car... all bad for me.
For all those thinking get a tow truck to come and do it... they don't want to get involved, and the only person I've found seems to be messing with me... so it's not looking great. Life lessons 101, woman find ways to fsck you, even after they've gone.

Jim, you need a ruse to get her away from the truck so you can retrieve it. Does she like movies? Get her into a theater for 2 hours and you'll have plenty of time to get that key learned or just hooked up and towed out of there, even to the other side of the mall parking lot. I'm too far away to help man.

Hrmmm, I have a restraining order against her... she can't come within 100ft of me.

The tow guy relayed something about needing flatbed now... Surely got taken by this guy. We went from meeting and he would be in and out of there in about 1 min, to this crap about him needing a flatbed.
The crazy thing is she showed me a screenshot and it was an imcoming missed call and it was from her phone.. so she called trying to see if they were coming after her vehicle.. made up some lie about our situation etc. This was classically her. This feels like Springer show.

You apparently don't have enforceable visitation rights. Is this a common law marriage or is there some sort of court-approved visitation and property settlement? I don't mean to sound cruel or insensitive, but you may have to just eat it and learn the lesson. Been there, done that.

You're not taking her to the movies, not officially anyway! Send them in the mail or something. Don't involve friends, not good to lie. Consider massage, hair salon, etc. too. Whatever will cause that fish to bite!

Forget that guy. Any tow man with half a brain knows a Denali of that generation might be AWD and if towed more than a hundred yards should be on a flatbed. It is not a big deal to pull it out of a parking space and move it a short distance. I forget, is it RWD or AWD?

***** father... State laws.. everything is with the courts, coronavirus slowed shit down to a crawl... I'm following all court orders, laws etc... and she isn't. If we ever see a judge, supposedly she's in a world of hurt.. due to her multitude of court violations etc. It's crazy what's she's done... I don't put anything past her. I just stayed around to be near my kid.. because I know what would happen the second I wasn't around and I was 100% right.

Lesson #1 learned.. always have a spare key for all cars.
The wheels of justice move slow and these days they are stuck in the mud.

I got you... the problem is I'd have to know when and where she's be going. She doesn't go to the movies.. not like the movies are open these days anyway, much less anything else, but I follow.

It's a 2wd.. not AWD, already verified through the VIN... he should have just lifted the rear.. wheeled out the complex and then strapped it down.

E-gads.....
Yes, it is a civil matter...... But you can't get in trouble "stealing" your own car.

But you MUST contact the PROPERTY owner where the truck is parked. If they say OK, then you are ok.

Well, you could crawl under there one night with an 11mm wrench and take the driveshaft home with you. Then put a hook or clevis in the receiver and and pull her out of there to safer ground. Lots of ways to skin this cat! RWD makes it even easier.

Springer show at its best.

Jim,
How long did she pay on the vehicle? Reimburse her that money and get the ride back.
