Just google it there are a bunch of different size cowls you can go with. I think they are primarily fiberglass which I'm not a fan of.

I just recently got a oil filter cutter so I'm excited to see what different filters look like inside after so many miles.

Never cut one open in my life. Just drain and recycle.

haha no I couldn't imagine working there! Nothing but crazy ops tempo and overbearing managers I'm sure.

Typically I just change the oil trash the filter and move on but now I get to play with a new tool. Not that I expect to see anything crazy In the Tahoe filter. The main reason for purchasing the cutter was to check the filters of the newly built motor in my Silverado.

It looks good at first glance but quickly gets kinda odd if you study it. Like the cowl induction part is double-stacked with the raised HD style part. Reminds me of them boobs with puffy areolas.

Whoa she must be in a cold climate lol. I like the hood at first then it starts to not look good. The side view is not good to me. But I'm also typically an OEM purist when it comes to exterior mods. To much becomes to much fast

Looks like it might be: JM3, JM5, or JM7..?
Looking at the RPO codes, looks like JM7 is promising:

JM7 12130 P BRB M BOOSTER BRAKE, HYD, HI PERFORMANCE

There are many more I just found. I’m not sure how to narrow it down. Do you have your RPO list?

I'll take a picture of them and post them up next chance I get. Maybe I should get the original build sheet like I did with my Tahoe

RPOs, good thought! I'll have to check those when I get to my computer tomorrow.


Installed the 4Hi circuit board which is so easy a cave man could do it. Also needed to do a tire rotation so I also threw on some 1/4 wheel spacers. The inner sidewall on the 285s rub the rear inner fender just a tad and I think that's cured now. Also at full lock the fronts rubbed somewhere. Never found rub marks but I could feel it.

I'm not a big fan of wheel spacers and I've never run the cheap kind that's just a disk with holes in it like a giant washer. Well never until now. Got them torqued to spec no problem and survived a test drive up to 80mph with no vibrations. Came home and re-torqued them which none were loose so that's good.View attachment 240876 View attachment 240877

Its the only one that seems to make sense out of my RPO codes. Anyone else have hydro and mind posting their RPOs?

I'm just curious to know what package the hydroboost was included with since mine is so base.

I'll take a picture of mine soon. Sadly it doesn't look like yours has the fun package (G80) though

The original Limited slip blew up on the previous owner and he swapped in a "Low mile" G80 because he was cheap and selling it lol.

Agreed. Cowl induction or HD but not both. Make a choice dammit. And those boobs need to be bigger for those aerolas.

It has one swapped in from when the factory posi died and killed the ring and pinion. Will be getting a trutrac eventually.

I thought the G80 was the only posi you could get from the factory?
