Do you know what factory option had to be chosen for an SUV to get hydroboost? Mine is very base model so I thought it was weird that it had it.

It was time for a little maintenance tonight and since my shop is currently full I had to do it in one of my barns.

Changed oil over to some thick stuff since the rear main leaks a bit. Drain plug looked normal and I cut open the filter which looked clean as a whistle. I think it's been 5 or 6k since the last oil change and around 8 or 9k since I did the filter when I first bought it.

Also added some tow hooks I picked up used.

Sucks when your shop is full. Good oil can't wait till it warms up in a few months so I can start running the thicker oil.

That's very possible as the VIN report doesn't specify it just says "Brake Type - PWR". I know the guy I got it from did not swap it in because I specifically asked. But that doesn't mean someone before him didn't. It looks like this thing has had a hard multi-owner life lol.

I was surprised how much quieter the engine sounds with the thicker oil. Oil pressure went up considerably which is to be expected but since this motor has unknown miles (Probably a metric ton) I don't think it will hurt it a bit.

Also its kinda fun to slum it under a barn like good ole times.

I use to run that exact oil in my bike when it first became available.(2013)

Must be rough having to decide which barn will work best for your Oil change.

Well as you can see I'm dirt floor poor. Actually I just rebuilt an old horse barn and converted it into daily driver parking/oil change barn just gotta save for concrete which is crazy expensive right now.

Its Mobile 1 Full synthetic 15w50. Was going to do 10w40 but this was on sale.

I have no clue if it was added by a previous owner. This thing was supposedly owned by an older couple since new so I have no clue

Looks like it might be: JM3, JM5, or JM7..?
Looking at the RPO codes, looks like JM7 is promising:

JM7 12130 P BRB M BOOSTER BRAKE, HYD, HI PERFORMANCE

There are many more I just found. I’m not sure how to narrow it down. Do you have your RPO list?

RPOs, good thought! I'll have to check those when I get to my computer tomorrow.


Installed the 4Hi circuit board which is so easy a cave man could do it. Also needed to do a tire rotation so I also threw on some 1/4 wheel spacers. The inner sidewall on the 285s rub the rear inner fender just a tad and I think that's cured now. Also at full lock the fronts rubbed somewhere. Never found rub marks but I could feel it.

I'm not a big fan of wheel spacers and I've never run the cheap kind that's just a disk with holes in it like a giant washer. Well never until now. Got them torqued to spec no problem and survived a test drive up to 80mph with no vibrations. Came home and re-torqued them which none were loose so that's good.

I've seen some but haven't specifically looked at each brand. Plus in person is more fun and those filter cutters are so satisfying.

I think its JH2 BRAKE HYD POWER, DISC/DISC, 7,200 LBS

Its the only one that seems to make sense out of my RPO codes. Anyone else have hydro and mind posting their RPOs?

I'm just curious to know what package the hydroboost was included with since mine is so base.
