Imo it looks tacky to have another brand on your vehicle. My neighbor likes to put Cadillac wheels with Cadillac center caps on his nice Chevys. He also puts fake SS stickers on and Good Year Eagle stickers on his tires. Yech. Corvette would have to come off those calipers if they were mine but IDK if they’re cast in or just painted on.
Agree.

Hate mismatched logos like that.

Also hate imposter trucks with incorrect badging.

The used car dealer that i bought my last two trucks from was run by a guy I’ve known my whole life. His dad started the business back in 1974. He was in the process of retiring and handing the reins over to his son when I traded in my 2007 Silverado Crewcab. It did not have the Z71 package, but when it was put up for sale, they had taken the 4x4 stickers off and put Z71 stickers on. I asked the son, who I have known his whole life, why he did it and it was all about getting the sale. People pay more for Z71’s than plan 4x4 trucks. I told him I will never buy a truck from his dealership again after seeing him do stuff like that.

I’m 7/8 of the way to having this project done. Tonight I finally got the inside sanded, and the pcv inlet installed, and I also got it leak tested, found a leak, and plugged it. Tomorrow i’ll run it thru the dishwasher maybe (might not get it done til this weekend) and then installed!

Did some minor debadging. Took the “LT”’s off the rear door pillars. The side door body moldings. The GM squares in front of the front door “Tahoe” letters. Left the Tahoe name on the tailgate for now. Baby steps. Like it so far. Except for my 2 cordless battery packs on my Metabo gun took a beating and dying fast with the eraser wheel trying to get the adhesive off. Got 3 1/2 doors done. Oh well.

Looks good so far but I wanna see the results in the sunlight! The one thing reserving me from removing mine is there being lots of paint correction needed after removing 200K mile moldings. If yours can come clean after 300K+ miles on the doors, I'd feel more confident. I'm ok with and expecting to buff the clearcoat. But I ain't looking to paint the body yet.

I've always liked "OEM+" stuff on vehicles. I've never had a problem with caddy wheels on chevys or GMCs or in this case, vette calipers on a truck. But to me thats different than fake SS badge. I think they're just painted though. Maybe I'll paint them purple.
Agree there’s a difference between slapping some SS badges on, opposed to something like Chevy wheels on a GMC. Though I agree, I don’t want mismatched wheels, or anything obvious. But if the calipers “hiding” behind the wheels showed ZL1 or Corvette, it might be ok with me. Depending on how it looks.

I mean, the main reason why I'm okay with leaving them saying "corvette" is because they're actual 6 piston corvette z06 calipers as opposed to big plastic red shrouds.

I really wanna delete my door plastics but I'm afraid I'll have super new paint right next to new paint under the plastics.

Yeah, that will chew thru cordless drill batteries in a hurry. I have a corded 7.5amp D-handle drill that I use with my eraser. The side handle helps control the eraser.
