Our 08 Denali XL just started doing this in the exact same place lol. Going to buy some of the self adhesive velcro tape and use the fuzzy side.

Z55 option is Auto Ride. Computer controled Magnetic Ride Control / MRC / MagneRide struts on all four corners with rear having a pair of integrated air shocks to level the suspension.

The MRC isn’t something to balk at and yank out. It’s oem on:

Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 (2015- model year)
Ferrari 599
Ferrari F12berlinetta
Ferrari California
Ferrari FF
Ferrari 458 Italia
La Ferrari
Lamborghini Aventador
Audi TT
Audi S3
Audi R8
Acura MDX
Acura ZDX
Land Rover Range Rover Evoque
Land Rover Discovery Sport

You are correct... Z55 is "Autoride".... but it's not "Magnaride".

Magnetic ride control is RPO Z95.

The Z55 shocks are electronically controlled though.

I cited Wiki. That’s funny they got it wrong to ad to the confusion.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MagneRide

To make it more interesting, MagneRide, MRC, AutoRide are all valveless single tube shocks filled with magnetorheological fluid.

There’s two generations of the mag filled struts. The original with one coil and the newer version with two. GM doesn’t elaborate on the particular differences of MagneRide and AutoRide though.

I’ll take a stab that the Magneride offered by Caddie ... edit got the info ... approx 06-08 lead/tin was banned from ecu due to “tin whiskers”.

MagneRide is currently in its third generation, with the first iteration of the technology having debuted on the 2002 Cadillac STS Seville.

Compared to the first two generations, the third-gen MagneRide system includes enhanced seals and bearings to extend the system’s application to heavier vehicles such as pickup trucks and SUVs, with the most notable improvements being to the ECU and coils.

A legal requirement for lead-free ECUs prompted the control unit of the third-generation MagneRide system to be redesigned from the ground up. The all-new ECU has three times the computing capacity of the second-generation system, ten times the amount of memory, and more precise tuning.

While the first- and second-gen MagneRide systems used a single coil within one damper, the third-gen system uses two smaller coils wound in opposite directions. The change was made to eliminate a short delay lasting 20 ms in the reaction time of the dampers caused by a phenomenon with the single electromagnetic coil that took place from the time the ECU cut the current to the time the damper lost its magnetic field. This was caused by a temporary electric current in the electromagnet known as the eddy current. The change to a two-coil system resulted in the suspension system being able to respond faster.

On the drivers side I ended up taping the cover down by the door jamb to keep it tight overnight.

I will say you need to let the silicone cure 12 hours for BEST results.

If there is old tape or glue on the old dash remove it with alcohol or acetone.

Prep an test fit is important....

I have NO dash rattles at all now.

I've seen quite a number of these while searching for another truck to add to our stable. Popular with dealerships I suppose.

I literally don't even think about or notice it now. It looks factory from 10 feet. Only if you get real close do you notice it. For 150$ and a couple hours time you fix the issue.

Trying to replace the actual dash panels will cost you MUCH more $ and time....

Yes, I never noticed them on the first or third pass through the photos!

Let us know what kind of mileage she averages, see if you can beat the EPA!! LOL

Not a chance the way I drive. I was doing 18 mpg but the hills of Kentucky and Tenn. dropped it.

I saw a brand new Navigator get popped by Georgia's finest south of Macon. The road was open and clear (moderate trffic- iwas doin 85) and he had been shadowing me but suddenly he pulled ahead. Trooper was lasering from the overpass and I saw them pull onto entrance- he did too. I had a tense moment- but they lit him up....

Love it when someone else gets nailed instead of me.

We always slow down going through Georgia, those boys are the revenue kings of the interstate across this nation! LOL

I love driving through Kentucky and Tennessee, especially that stretch between Chattanooga and Nashville on 24... Goodness, now that I think about it, it's been 24 years! Well, at least I had the joy of running through there in my muscle car a couple of times.

Drove home last thursday-friday with my brother. We left at 5 am thurs. made it to Cincinnati.
Then friday the last 4 hours. AVG 17.5 mpg.

Taking the Denali in fo a free oil change today. It has 5500 miles on this oil- changed right after I bought it. Now has 28 % on OLM but the oil is dark enough I am going to do this. Given it had the origininal plugs at 134k its cheap prevention.
