I’m trying to decide between an XL AT4 Ultimate and an XL Denali Ultimate. Has anyone driven both?
In general this will be a pavement princess for the most part but I do ranch work as well and it’ll be on gravel roads a few times a summer.

I was leaning Denali Ultimate for quite a while as I like the 24” rims and the overall exterior look just a touch more. But I do not love the brown interior and REALLY like the AT4 ultimate interior in black w red accents.

Are they the same soundproof wise? I’m imagining the AT4 tires are a touch louder? For now my thoughts lean more toward comfort and cruising versus any off road credentials at all, but I’m also gusssing more sidewall on the 20” at4 wheels makes for a comfortable ride. Worried it’s maybe too “squishy?”

Any input you can share is greatly appreciated. Especially someone who has driven both (AT4 and Ultimate w 24” wheels).
Thanks!

This is going to be a generalized answer since I have not driven both, but if you want more of a pavement focused machine, go with the Denali.

The AT4 tires may be slightly louder but also would have a softer ride compared to the large Denali wheels.

Per your use case, the at4 ultimate sounds like it may be a better choice since you take it to a ranch. But it’s a personal call

You don’t want 24” if you do anything but concrete… they are expensive, very little sidewall to take an imps t and can’t be bought locally. Not to mention either a decent 3 peak or MS application.

I don't notice much if any difference between twenty twos and twenty fours, The only negative about 24's says there are no good tire choices right now, but they will be coming. They are expensive and will be expensive. I believe they have done more tuning on the ride and with air suspension it still rides pretty smoothly. You feel a few bumps, but you're going to feel them anyway. Already I've got tons of compliments on the 25....

So, why not a straight Denali w/ One of the Black or Teak/Light Shale interiors, 22" wheels, and the Denali Reserve package...you will save about 5-6K over the ultimate, and get the same equipment minus the headrest speakers, brown interior you don't want, and the vader chrome grill. Other than that, will be almost the same. Just be sure to add the premium capability package w/ Active Response 4wd

Back again ... I think I'm finally gonna order the 2026 AT4 Ultimate XL ... trading in our 2024 Lincoln Navigator L Black Label. I want the Duramax and the sliding console, rearview mirror camera, etc. I had a 2025 Lincoln Navigator L Black Label on order for a bit and the delays made me rethink. I didn't see $25k more for the new Navigator over the old one I have now or the AT4 Ultimate. I also toyed with the idea of the Lucid Gravity but lack of service centers near me has spooked me.

Still a little bit unsure on the AT4 Ultimate over the Denali Ultimate but I think preferring the interior on the AT4 Ultimate is winning out overall. I like the look of the 24s on the Ultimate but the 20s on the AT4 the more sensible choice it seems.

I don't think the tires are that much more expensive. I think my Toyo proxes are like 360 a tire, my Bridgestone tires my car came with was ~320-330. So I don't think a person buying a 90k car, really will stress over the 30 bucks a tire.

also if you wanted to go cheap, Nexxen Roadian and Lexani tires can both be had for under 300 per tire. I had Nexxen's on my 2010 escalade and I swear it road better than stock.

OEM 24's tires about 495 apiece on tire rack... THAT is "Much more expensive...."
Although I see they just introduced Michelin defenders. And they are cheaper. That will sound the death knell for any more Alenza purchases.

I’m doing to be interested in your opinion of the interiors vs the Lincoln. I was really close to buying a Black Label Navi as I thought it was the best interior on market sup $150k. Blew Cadillac Escalades out of the water. The fit and finish was just amazing.

Ended up with a Suburban LT because I liked the 6.0 more than I did any interior lol.

Will let you know ... Might have to locate instead of waiting 4 months? I personally preferred the Lincoln over the Cadillac as well. Softer ... less shared plastics with the Ford/GM counterpart imho.

The leather in the GMC AT4 Ultimate is definitely less soft than the Navigator, but I also think it will hold up better. The materials of course aren't up to par, but they're as good as I think I need and want. Navigation screen is nicer imho and the heated steering wheel actually gets warm in the GM :) Super Cruise v Blue Cruise not a huge difference anymore in my experience.

I think you hit everything I saw as well during my test drives. I think Lincoln did better with the color choices as well (interiors) on the Black Label. They really made the car feel bespoke.

Guys, I ended up with the Duramax AT4 Ultimate XL ... very pleased with my choice so far. Getting close to 4000 miles since purchase.

I'm having no regrets choosing it over the Denali Ultimate. I like not worrying about 24" rims and the rim size look is fitting for the stance of the vehicle. I may end up powder coating the rims or going with a different satin black wheel. Content so far! More later ...

How about some pics?
What size wheels did the AT4 come with?
