Did anyone attempt or made some type of air tube to direct cold air from the front of the truck to the air box? like an air inlet in a bumper?

Pretty sure it's been done, but the OEM setup is kinda like that but safer. It pulls air from the fender where it's virtually impossible for rain to be sucked in. Having an actual duct opens you up to water intrusion.

But, if you still wanna do it, I'd get an air breather duct from an 80s-90s car or truck at the salvage yard. It was common for them to have a plastic tube with a rectangular end that ducted air from the core support area to the filter housing.

That sounds more quiet than my stock exhaust! Is that a system or just the muffler? The pipe behind the exhaust tip looked like mild steel and not original.
Lol. That’s what I was thinking too.

The AirAid box I'm using has an extra inlet that pulls air from down below... I've never had an issue with water. I'm using just the box with a custom 5" MAF tube. The sound is great, even when the motor was stock.

I should add that the filter is freaking massive. It's a 6" inlet on the filter...

If you're cutting up the stock air box anyway....in the tray under it, theres an opening I think about a 3"hole saw will go thru

Is there a top cover?
No top cover, just a rubber seal that seals it to the hood... In my experience, the ones with lids don't allow enough airflow through the small inlets, specially when the truck isn't moving
