Yeah 3rd row isn't bad... hardest part is figuring out where to cut out the rubber and insulation so the seat will latch...

Yep! The cut out is the tough part! Luckily, the 3rd Row Husky cargo mat I got has the cut out slots for the seat brackets so all I need to do is lay it on top of rubber floor and trace cut the cut outs down to the rubber. Then from the rubber cut out, I can cut down through to insulation and I’ll be set. See how this goes.

i am planning to mount center jump seat on my 2011 ppv in next 2 weeks, please post your experience if you did it sooner. I am bit nervous about removing front seat in terms of airbag, harness and lifting out. :)

I am planning to do it in the next day or so. Watched some YouTune vids on this, and as what Kee Fuller said, it looks like an easy job. You just have to make sure you disconnect the battery before you remove the seats and you're good to go. Going to get a friend to help em with this. Will post install pics as well.

Just another update on my project. So this past week, and weekend, I got 3 more things done: Steering wheel w/radio controls swap, 3rd row seat install, and bench seat install.

1.The steering wheel swap was pretty straight foward. Unfortunately, I didn't take pics while I was doing it since I did it fairly quickly. I watched the following YouTube video (for anyone interested in doing a swap) and followed exactly how the guy demonstrated in the video while using the same tools and everything. The video was for how to replace a steering sheel on a 07-13 Chevy Silverado, but it was exactly the same and easy to do.

Bench seat install pics

Unbolting driver and passenger seat and seat belts. Because my seats are power, I had move the seat back first to remove the front bolts, then move it forward to remove the rear bolts, and then I disconnected the battery as a precaution due to the seat air bags.

When I did this install, I only took out the driver seat and just moved the left seat over so the bench
seat can be placed in center mounting spot.

Ran into a little bit of issue when laying the bench seat into place. As I suspected, there was a plastic cover that does not clear the bottom of the under seat storage compartment.

This same thing happened with another guy who, on YouTube, was installing this same type of bench seat on his 2012 PPV.

What he did was cut open a section off the bottom of the storage compartment, leaving an opening, so it would clear the cover, but I didn't do that. I just cut through the rubber flooring to find and loosen the 3 bolts (See arrows) for the plastic cover and removed it with no issues.

After removing the plastic cover, I connected power connector for the under seat storage compartment accessory outlet and the bench seat was laid right into place. Once that was done, the seats were put back in and bolted.

49611931507_5199d131a9_m.jpg

As an additional accessory, I added a dash mount dual USB charger which I plugged into the storage compartment accessory outlet and ran to the back side of the bench seat and mounted next to the rear cup holder compartment door.

That pretty much completes all my interior modifications and upgrades for now.
Next things I need to do is have my trusted mechanic do a proper inspection and then get paint job estimates. More to come on that.

Brings back memories...

Hope they're some good memories. :D

As for my ride, it's with my trusted mechanic having everything inspected and checked.
Will see what he finds and services.

Picked up my PPV from my trusted mechanic. After doing his inspection, the only things he needed to do was a coolant flush, brake fluid flush, and clean the throttle intake.
As for the taped patched hole on the roof, he put a permanent patch. Everything else checked out A-OK and Coronavirus free! Last main thing I need to do now is get repaint estimates.

If it was mine I would get a can of lacquer thinner and a rag and remove the rattle can black paint and expose the Cop paint... lol

Hello fellow PPV owners,

Just introducing myself as a new owner of a retired FHP (Florida Highway Patrol) 2012 Chevy Tahoe PPV with 175,013 miles on the odo. I apologize in advance for the long intro, but I am excited to be a member and owner of these not so common special SUVs. A la The Blues Brothers, “It's got a cop motor, a 323 cubic inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks.…..”! :Big Laugh: Although I’ve never owned a Chevy Tahoe before, I’ve always been a fan so this is my first, but I’m no stranger to the GM full size SUV. My family previously owned a 1989 and 1998 GMC Suburban years ago, so I do have experience driving these bad boys. I have driven a newer model Tahoe once as a rental in 2018 while on a family trip to the San Fran bay area. That was a nice truck I enjoyed driving, and hoped could get one sometime in the future, but I couldn’t afford to buy new so when the chance to buy this special PPV came up I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get one for a bargain.

JT

If i had the extra money I'd pick up one of those NYPD hybrids PPV No governor, the top speed is 150-155mph or so it has a 366 cubic inch plant or it could be a 5.3L matted to the 2mode and just a standard PPV with the aero package

it has the rare option of no sunroof(guess they were a very special order) that also must mean it has the upgraded powertain that is unlocked....
 that means it could output the full 80HP from the electrical motor

Got my stimulus check so I put some of it towards a new set of tires. I replaced the Goodyear RS-A tires it came with and went with BF Goodrich Advantage T/A Sport high performance tires and that solved the vibration when driving at highway speeds. Although the Goodyears still had good tread, I suspected one or more tires were out of round or had a flat spot, even after rebalancing, but what a difference with these new Advantage T/As. The ride is much smoother and the vibration is minimal.

The rest of my stimulus will go towards a new paint job.
Going to start getting estimates on that.

Glad the picture helped... it's not a bad job to fix the horn when ya know where to look...

I was going nuts trying to figure out the horn issue. Just joined the forum today, saw your post, immediately found the tan wires, removed the splice and reconnected the existing connector...HONK HONK!! Literally took 45 seconds. THANK YOU!!
