Happy New Year
Today I am doing an oil and filter change.
Pretty straight forward.
The filter setup in these is a bit of a pain how it is situated.
While under there i went looking for a rattle in the steering I have been feeling through the steering wheel.
Drinkers side inner tie rod is the culprit.
Felt dry so I've given it a good pump of grease for now and see how it goes on the next drive out of town.
I know I'll need to replace but think it'll do for next couple of trips n will change next opportunity and freshen up the wheel alignment.
The hub bore on those rims look kinda large based on the center cap. Are you using any hub adapters or do the hub bores just look big in the photo.

Hey :)
As far as I am aware it's a stock setup.

Couldbe the factory m/t hub caps look large?

Have you ever taken the center caps off for any reason? I’m only curious as I have a similar set of wheels and hub bore is larger than my stock rims hub. My local tire shop said I could run them with no problem but I’d be more inclined to do so if I saw it actually being done lol

Ok, thanks. The ones have look like they go on a Toyota with the big hub bore.
I am intending to replace these wheels with a standard offset 18 -20" wheel with a lower profile road performance tyre to narrow the truck about 8-10"

So when I take them off I will pay attention to the diameter because they are a sought after wheel here and if they will fit a Toyota it will improve option of sale.

Cheers for pointing that out.

These wheels don't suit the use of the vehicle. Am doing lots of miles across the country and our roads are quite skinny and left to right, the opposite to you guys

The Yukon will handle much better with the wheel back inside the steel guard.
I'll remove the plastic flares and take the 2" body lift out.

It has a shìte lock when turning at the moment and it's putting pressure on the front end with that width.
Might have a look at skirting the sides at some point to take the focus off those big chassis rails.

Looks same rocker covers as my 97 vortec 350
Have you worked out what issue is?
If it is the same model as mine it may be inlet manifold.
Using any water?
I haven’t had a chance to look at it but I’ll start by checking the inlet. It’s got a small leak at the side of radiator I need to replace to be able to tell. 99 Vortec 5.7

GM doesn’t show it as a part with the mirror, so it may be something that comes with the windshield to help the glue stick better.

That is a tapered wedge that is glued onto the window and the mirror base dovetails onto the wedge (locking it in place).

Got issues.

Got it home safe without getting creamed, but I'm not willing to drive it again until I get this figured out.

Changing the radiator for probably the 5th or 6th time since 05. Radiator is definitely a weak point. Went with a local radiator store that has a lifetime guarantee. Was going to go with one from them about 10 years ago and here we are now

Dang, where does it keep failing?

I’m on my second since new so maybe I just got lucky.
It’s never left me stranded or overheated but they’ve all started leaking at the plastic sides. Maybe I’m just unlucky lol usually about 24 months in I have to start adding at the reservoir to keep it filled. Once I’m filling it back up each tankful I start planning on putting in a new one.
