Today I installed the last LED (for now) in my LED lighting upgrade(did headlights today). I am happy as heck with this setup (again for now LOL).

Thankfully after a lot of research, I didn't have to actually remove the front bumper

the shroud is bigger, one side is 9 blade the other 7 blade and the motors are 700w each versus 500w each, the stock one on mine has (2) 5 blade fans, fitment is the same frame wise but the HD shroud is about 2.5" thicker probably because of the bigger motors but I will know more once I dive into it, this one is from a hummer. I don't really have a specific reason for doing this other than it's freaking hot here in the summer, not really desert hot but hot enough and I just like things a little more heavy duty than normal I am kind of rough on my vehicles. I am going to take these old motors out and pressure wash it and clean it up and try see what I can put on it to make it look like new again.

From 2011 or so they all went to 2, 5 blade rim less blades. The non HD had 2 700w 5 rimless blades, and the HAD had 2 5 rimless blades with a 700w and 900w motor.

are you sure about the 900w? there is nothing available above 700 that I can find and I did quite a bit of digging before I pulled the trigger, I did find different combinations of fans, dual 5 blade, dual 7, dual 9, and combinations of 5/7 7/9, some were for towing packages.

I may be wrong about the 900w, but you are also using the 1st design fans not the 2nd design ones like I have. The 2nd design came out in 2011 or 2012 and only have 5 non rimmed blades per side regardless if it had HD or non HD cooling. The motors themselves were what GM changed in order for HD cooling, so after checking Rock Auto, the 1st design fans had numerous fan blade counts and 2 different motors, while the 2nd design has 500w or 700w motors depending on if it was HD cooling or not. When I searched for the 2nd design, it was much harder to know if they were the HD cooling because they all have 5 rimless blades, but there is a part number on the upper shroud that differentiated them. I also found that the 2nd design non HD cooling ones sound weaker than the HD cooling ones.

Oil change and bath, tight on time before a trip so i decided to pay for the oil change.. man what a mistake, $140 CAD. I usually buy oil on sale for $32 per 5 L jug... and filter on sale for $12-18. Never again.

Looks like the 2011+ with K5L enhanced cooling have both 5 blade rimless and both 700 watt, I just looked at mine with K5L and it’s the same.

Yesterday i swapped the TPMS into the new wheels i purchased from a GMC dealer. They were new CK157 takeoffs and had the newer version sensor thats not compatible with my ‘09. It was a pain in the butt but i refused to pay firestone $25 a wheel just to peel the tire back and swap them.

R1 Brake Kit install. Along with an assortment of Carlson, AC Delco and Dorman parts to refurb my stock brakes.

I had a seized guide pin up front on both sides a while back. Even after cleaning them and lubing them up it didn't work like it should and my inner pads wore more than the outers.

I ended up pulling off and painting the caliper brackets and painting the calipers still attached to the truck. Afterwards I replaced all the guide pin boots and guide pins and lubed them with CRC Silaramic to try and keep rust at bay. Once all that was done, I replaced my pads and rotors with R1 Concepts Carbon Geomet rotors in the front and eLine rotors in the back. The rear Geomet rotors were on back order for two more months and my front pads had gotten down to the backing plates so I went for it. Both front and rear are slotted and use R1's ceramic pads.

I could tell a difference this morning on my way to work in the braking performance. They should only get better over the next few hundred miles.

Front/Rear Dif fluid Change(Mobil1 75w90) as well as the transfer case fluid change(Valvoline Max Life ATF). Looked like it hadn't been done in a while by the previous owner so I am glad I got to it. Everything came off with ease which is surprise for a vehicle with 100k Michigan miles.

Next up is the Transmission but we will leave that for much warmer summer weather.

Do you have the GM part number or these? I recently put 2016 sensors in mine.

Checked my Mitchell Collision Guide and see 1 fan motor for the 5.3/6.0 motors and 2 motors each for the 5 and 9 blade fans for the 6.2 motor. The Mitchell book in my experience is not always complete. It would be cool to put together a parts list with the amperage or pertinent specs of the motors for those who might like to upgrade.
