I figured she had 3.73s but looked at my homemade excel calculator to compare and confirm. Mine has the dumb suspension and also hunkers down and feels more stable the faster you go.

Does yours have an aluminum or steel driveshaft? The steel one has a critical speed of 5000 rpms (same as front DS on 4x4) that limits top speed to about 134. The PPVs must use something different as their driveshafts are turning about 5,400 rpms at 139 mph with either transmission.

My max safe speed would be around 122 or so; the propellers' critical speed is 4556 rpms.

Great info! I wanna say it's aaloominium but now I'm second-guessing myself. I'm hours away from it at the moment but I'll be sure to check when I get a chance!

Just curious, why does your gear selection go PRND321? Mine doesn't have the 321 after drive, just M for manual. Is it different transmissions?

Really? Do you HAVE to loudcap me on my lack of gears?

*Sigh*

Yes, different transmissions. I have a 4L60E which has only 4 forward gears. You have the 6L which has 6forward gears as well as electronic manual control (+/- rocker on shift stalk). I sometimes fantasize of having a 6L...

I like the 4L60e more than I do the 6L80e myself. My Grandad has a '13 with the 6 speed. Its for sure faster, and probably a better transmission too- but that said I think I like the 4 speed more than the 6 speed. MPG with the 6 speed isn't really that much better.

It was supposed to be better by about 1 mpg but those gains were not reflected in the ratings. What did boost MPGs was VVT.

However, my examination of 5.3 GMT900 SUVs of all years on Fuelly shows them all averaging 14.3 MPG.

I feel like I’m doing good with 14.1 then for having an 07. Gonna try and see about doing 305/50R20 tires here in about 6 months. That will add some increased rotational mass and friction. I will try and counteract that with more tire pressure and hopefully with some weight reduction I’ll keep the mpg the same or better (especially with the cat delete)
