Wasn't bad at all good set of drill bits and it goes through like butter. Even did it without the 90 degree drill. But no one local carried the thread tap size I needed so I had to order it which was an 11/16.

It's impossible to not drive it hard once in awhile after you add boost lol. Kinda addictive.
Kind of?? Duh!!
Well cut work short today and went and wrenched on the truck for a few. Got the vaccum lines run as well as my fitting in the pan for the return. Started extending my wires for my MAF sensor but I need some more materials. Just waiting on my fitting for my oil feed and it's just about complete aside from fluids. Much boost, needz moar BOVs.

Fo real tho, one is a wastegate. The WG lets the exhaust bypass the turbo's turbine (hot side) to control the amount it's spun and therefore the PSI it produces, the BOV vents the pressure already produced by the compressor (cold side) when the throttle is closed so it doesn't build up in the piping and compressor housing.

most oem turbo cars use an internal waste gate turbo, actuated by a little vac can on the exhaust housing. gn probably does this
for the cold side a few of the newer borg warner turbos also use a diverter valve on the compressor housing. not sure what the gn does on the cold side i think it may use a bypass valve in the intake manifold

set up isnt the greatest for max performance but for packaging and simplicity its compact and works great

and start this tahoe up already! quick slackin!

Well guys she's all together tried to fire it up with the stock injectors in it just to hear it run and give you guys a video. It cranked but wouldn't start up. Also noticed a small leak from the T I used for the oil feed line so it'll be a little longer I suppose. Not really sure why it wouldn't start though.

Because of the prius next to it. It was embarrassed. Seriously though, how's the fuel pressure? Getting spark? Those are the 2 basic things I always start with. You've done a great job so far. I'm sure it's something simple, hopefully anyway.

Haha that thing saves me so much money when I actually have to drive to work and it handles like a go cart especially since I installed the coilovers on it. I've considered doing auto X with it but I don't need anymore costly projects. But I haven't really done to much troubleshooting to be honest I just finished connecting everything this morning after running around to grab fittings. And now I've got a wedding that's going to consume the rest of my day :bs:

Probably a good thing it didn't start. Aren't you supposed to prime the turbo before running them? Also, if you don't have a MAF installed I would imagine that may cause a no start. 3rd, make sure that tuner is aware of your unicorn truck and doesn't throw a base tune from similar build with the wrong trans. I've never seen a 4l60 NNBS tahoe. The 4l80 may be an easier swap for you since you can run them on a 4l60 tune with a one wire relay method, just change the ratios. 4wd may present some xfer case issues.

Nice build I'm in for vids of it running. Should be fun..

I system was primed for oil before I tried to start it made sure oil made a fuel cycle through the system and out the return line before I connected it to the oil pan. It does currently have a MAF sensor connected it's just not on top of that intercooler pipe and visible. And it is currently still on a factory tune as well as has factory injectors in it for the mere purpose of being able to start it. My HP tuners arrives this week so I'll swap my injectors and begin the remote tuning process but that won't be this week.

I have been looking at a kit from upp performance. It is expensive but it it really well designed compared to other kits that I have seen. I just haven't pulled the trigger because I want to build an extra engine and install it all in one shot.

I am living vicariously through this thread. Don't let my vicarious living die! LOL

It's currently still not running haha. Have a CEL and borrowed a friends code reader for it to say it's unable to connect to the vehicle. And of course my HP tuners hasn't arrived yet so I'm not sure what the code is for nor can I reset it. I've either got some hard code that's stopping it from starting or I had the flange for the MAF sensor welded on backwards and the sensor is in the wrong direction possibly but I'm not 100% sure that would stop it from starting. Ive done all other troubleshooting it has fuel, oil pressure, spark so I won't really know until I know the code.
