I swear I saw someone had a custom message flash across the DIC screen at startup. May have been a C5 or C6 Corvette or something. The image in my head is foggy, but the teal green text and gauge layout was definitely GM.

Having a custom splash screen on the HU would suffice nicely! I remember back in '02-ish, I bought a then top-of-the-line single DIN Pioneer Premier that could do custom screens. You had to download a program to your computer from Pioneer's site, open and edit the pics including setting the scrolling style, burn the images to a CD, put the CD in the HU and go into a special menu to copy them from the CD to the HU's memory. It was a background feature with half-decent color scale that would scroll through the images like a sideshow, similar to "the dolphin" HUs that came out later
The Pioneer in The Beast lets you download from a flash drive connected to the USB port, I think this one does too. I should be able to do something.

So... the console. The freight from Canada was a bit much so I decided to cancel. Plus the fact that it had the rear entertainment package which would have to have been deleted and a pocket found to replace it. I found another at LKQ in Cali and it’s coming UPS. Total was about $100 cheaper altogether. It looks exactly like this one.

Got the center trim today and installed it with the Panavise phone mount. Now I need a super short lightning cable. And the scratches in the other trim aren’t too noticeable at all. It’s coming along.

And a pic of what you ended up with on the dash mount -- without the phone. Please.

Here it is without the phone or bezel. I just use a magnetic mount so I ordered an AMP base for mine because the Panavise uses that pattern. It did stick out past the edge of the mount though so I trimmed about 1/4” off.

I mounted the new blue mini rocker switch for the demon eyes in the cubby next to the TC switch. I’ll install it tomorrow. I had to cut a hole in the roof of the thing in order to get the switch in because it was too tall to slide in.
