Oops I just accidentally bought a floor console out of a 2009 Sierra Denali on EBay Canada. It was listed for the super low price of $196 and I offered $175 and they accepted. It looks perfect in the pics, the truck was a nice black Denali with the same dash as the one I just put in that was totaled on the exterior. I have seen these go for up to $1k so I’m hoping it’s in as good shape as it looks. I’m waiting on a freight quote for them to ship it. Hoping it won’t be too much. I’ve looked in the US using searchtempest with no luck for anything in decent shape for less than $500. Mostly ugly ones with wood grain. This looks like it’s all black.

I think Chris had it. I'm glad this came up and jogged my memory. I'm sure he'll enlighten us.

@iamdub ?

Yup. I bought a whole roll of blue window tint back around '06 just for four pieces about 3" x 1" for the displays in my S10's instrument cluster (double layered for more blue). Had it kickin around ever since just in case.

Ooh! Could I talk you into sending me a little..? I’d love to do my cluster and climate displays!

All 3 started as different shades of black, but after painting them twice, first with SEM satin black and then Krylon Fusion satin they’re still too shiny so now I need to get flat black.

Today after installing the stereo, HVAC and TC controls I decided to extend the wiring harness for my demon eyes so I can locate a new toggle switch in that little cuddy by the TC button. In the process the knee bolster had to come out, and that made me think about whether the flat black Krylon was a close match to the rest of the dash and it was. As in really close, enough that I’m pretty sure it won’t even be noticed unless you know I painted the stuff. So I pulled the glovebox and lower center section and repainted them all. Looks pretty damn good imo. It seems like it’s just the way the light reflects off the different pieces that make it look any different.

I also started cutting up the cluster bezel pieces and after an hour of so decided to stop for now. It’s gonna take a lot of work I think.
