Thanks yaw! I last changed in 2017 and remember going through hell. I look more forward to this job now. I ordered the 41-162 from autozone with $7 discount and a mail in rebate I know i'll be too lazy to fill out. Came out to $62 before rebate. I'll record the misfires after I replace hopefully tomorrow and if the amount is still high, I'll work on the plugs next. Wasted my money on a spark tester![]()
It’s fine when you buy direct from Amazon, it’s when you buy from a third party seller that you need to watch out.Yea my first set was from amazon. Maybe that was the problem. Reputable seller though, 4 stars....but the few $ saved isnt worth the risk I'm learning.
Once you enable the PIDs then you will want to go back out and go to Realtime Information and long press on a blank screen and Add Display then choose which type, I use the Digital Display then you scroll down, like you did before, until you see Misfire Cylinder (X) current or history and select the one you want to see. Do this for each cylinder.
Dang, you just made my Torque Pro much more useful. Thanks!
Is there a webpage that lays these tricks out?
Your welcome. I'm not sure to be honest, I just get in the app and start playing around checking out all the different menus until I stumble upon something useful... lol
thanks for the direction
The next time it won't start like that hold the accelerator pedal all the way to the floor (wide open throttle) while cranking the engine over.
If it is flooded this will clear the flood because it will shut off the injectors while cranking.
If this causes it to start up then the most likely culprit is the evap purge valve on the engine.
That Cylinder 8 is still tricky. I got it done but could not for the life of me fit the torque wrench. That heat shield all in the way. I gave it a snug fit and everything else went smooth. Fired her up and she sounded amazing and fired right up. Lately she had trouble starting. I went around the block and up a hill I commonly use for testing and issue is definitely gone. I have to do more testing to see if the wires or coils may have issues. Should have a better update on misfires after a spirited drive.
Thanks everyone, saved me some $ because I was definitely looking at replacing coils/wires first with the sad assumption that I had more time on the plugs.
