I don't care. The more info the better i think, but you will probably get more responses starting your own thread.

Finished getting it installed. Everything is working as it should that the PAC interface advertised to do.
I did not get to mess with it much today after finishing up, but i can say. It is an improvement over the stock radio.
Fuller or richer i don't know but it is an improvement for sure.
Over the next week or two, i'll be able to learn all the settings and get it dialed in to my liking.

Great thank you
So I have a 2007 escalade with the bose system. I have replaced the factory radio with a aftermarket unit and made the speakers sound better. For fathers day I was gifted 6.5" jbl component sets for the front doors and coaxial speakers for the rear doors. These speakers are 3ohm and the factory speakers are 2ohms. So I went ahead and replaced the speakers. While they do sound clean and clear but I feel like they are being under powered and can handle much more.

My question is
Can I use a 4ch amp in conjunction with the factory amp?

My plans are to use a 4ch amp on the 4 doors and keep bose factory amp on the dash speaker, rear pillars and sub. Can this be done?

I think you could but would require some wiring changes im sure.
If i was going to go that far, i would just get rid of the Bose amp and go custom all the way.

Yeah, This stereo has about a 40 band eq, time alignment, Volume for individual speakers. Ton of features i don't even know yet when i get into the audio part of it.
If i had the cash, i would go full blown system.
This stereo can run tri amps with different adjustment for each. Tweets, Mids, Bass. ATOTO calls it Tri amping. Ill post a pic of the screen with it turned on.
Maybe i can collect up some stuff in the next few months.

I agree, but I recommend not getting in a hurry to tweak balance, tone, fader, tone, eq, etc; primarily the eq. A bit at a time is much less stressful, I think.

It's also surprising how much bottom-end is lost to road and mechanical noises.

I also replaced the Bose in my '07 Escalade. This is probably not a popular choice, but I eliminated rear speakers and just went straight stereo, with a sub.

Years ago, I wasted dollars on a home surround set-up, and discovered I prefer my music in stereo. I don't miss rear speakers, at all.

Yes, for sure that this won't be done in one session. It is an iterative approach, where you make the first major adjustments in the first long session, to get into the ball park so to speak, and then make several minor tweaks over time in very short sessions to get it exactly how you want it.

And, YES, the tweaking of the subwoofer needs to be done while the truck is moving, as the sound sitting at idle and the sound while in motion is amazingly different.

When you say the 'rear' speakers, are you referring to the speakers at the rear of the truck on the pillars on either side of the deck lid? If yes, I eliminated those speakers as well, as they did not provide any value to me sitting in the driver's seat. I do use the rear door speakers to provide a 3D spatial listening environment, which I prefer.

I've always wished there was some modern version of the old 'tone' control; but one that reacted to speed, rather than to volume.

I told the shop all I wanted was front doors and 'A' pillar tweeters [which I'm not sure I'd miss, if they were gone].

Now that you ask, and get me thinking, I don't remember even trying the fader. I'll explore a bit. If I mess up any settings, it'll be your fault. ;)

Here are some more pics. Have no idea what it all does.
The stereo itself has normal Pioneer style speaker outputs that im using now. Actually out of the box with no tweaks sounds decent.
It also has RCA outputs for LR Tweeter, LR Mid, LR bass.
Most of this probably will not do a thing hooked to the Bose amp but it does have future upgrades for sure.

This post reinforces the wisdom of fine-tuning in a slow, patient manner. Making notes might be a good idea.

Honestly, I always liked the old Mono radio setups. Ya know, 1 speaker center dash.
I wonder if running in mono with multiple speakers would be as good as a single speaker...
But I tell ya, mono just sounds cleaner. Less headache for me.

Lately my dash has been making lots of creaky sounds... And my rear bumper cover seems to flap on the bumper causing noise..

A lot of my '60s music sounds as good, and sometimes better, in mono. I also like that studio ambiance better than the current practice of recording each instrument in a sterile, isolated, environment before layering the tracks together.

If you run that experiment, please let us know results.

Front door speakers and A-pillar tweeters are ran in parallel.

Rear door speakers and D-pillar speakers are also ran in parallel.

Hooking the door speakers to a separate amplifier would require running new wires out to each door, from wherever you plan on mounting your new amp, to isolate them from the A/D pillar speakers.

Doing this will also throw the Ohm rating for the Bose amp way out of kilter.

Front Bose door speakers are like 1.9 ohm. Rear Bose door speakers are 3.6 ohm.

D-pillar Bose speakers are like 12.5 ohm if my memory serves me. I posted the info somewhere here in the forum, many moons ago.

The other issue I think would be dialing the system in since there aren't any adjustments on the bose amp, and any adjustments made at the headunit would also affect your aftermarket amp.

I don't really see the advantage of doing what you are talking about, but it is your truck so do as you please.

If you try it be sure to post your results so others can learn as well.
