3 summers in a row now since I started running Valvoline Premium Blue "Restore" 10w-30.
(not Valvoline Restore and Protect).

VPB Restore came about when Cummins asked Valvoline to come up with an oil that would cleanup the stuck piston ring problem they were having in one of their engines models and do it in one oil change interval. Its special and $80/gal.

Very little debris in the oil ban bottom this time, unlike the previous two times when there was a lot. I won't need to do this again.

While I'm in there this time I'm removing the pressure relief valve and shield and installing a Dorman #65407 plug in its place. My 2007 L92 didn't come with AFM hardware but it did come with that pressure relief valve?

Nice.

Nice.

Will you continue using Valvoline Premium Blue Restore, or will you switch to a different motor oil?

... And I would go ahead and replace that oil level sensor. They're inexpensive, plastic, that one looks like it's original?

Its not time for an oil change now, but when it is time I'll probably switch to either Amsoil, HPL, or VRP?
At $80 per gallon / $20 per Qt, you definitely deserve a break. I itch whenever I pay over $8 per Quart,
and I know that plenty of people pay under $8 per Quart for GroupIV synthetic often.

I know from spending a lot of time at BITOG forum that group IV is rare these days, not even a spash. :(
But VPB Restore is loaded with group IV & V

Did you use Restore & Protect at all in this process or only the Blue Restore version?

Incredibly impressive results either way.

Wouldn't using a quality synthetic motor oil and then adding a bottle of Rislone engine treatment have been more economical with the same results?

I removed my oil pressure relief valve in my L92, after it failed in the semi-open position, and plugged it, as you have now done. It is definitely not needed on this non-AFM motor, and now one less point of failure.
