Ummm left is always the driver side and right is always the passenger side.

What if you are standing in front of the truck facing it, like while leaned over working under the hood?

It's always better to refer to DS/PS instead of L/R because it can cause confusion, kind of like Port and Starboard on a boat/ship. They have those terms for a reason.

Along those same lines, we should also define a standard for WTF "turn over" means. Does it mean that the crankshaft spins when the starter engages the flexplate or flywheel? Or, is it referring to the engine actually firing up after being spun by the starter? Some people say "the engine turns over but doesn't start" while others say "the engine cranks but doesn't turn over". Personally, I'd rather just banish the term from the database.

I understand but people who say left but mean right are the ones who drop their cars off to get worked on. Left is always driver side and right is always the pass side for LHD cars.

If an engine turns over it’s upside down!

Agreed... "turns over" means the engine spins and isn't seized up, at least that's what it means to me.

"Turns over but doesn't start" indicates to me that the starter is functional and is engaging the flywheel and the engine spins freely but won't actually start and run.

The English language is funny.

I agree. I have just always made it a habit to say DS or PS because I have friends that aren't all that mechanically inclined that like to call and ask me questions about their vehicle.

It cuts down on at least some of the confusion and frustration of trying to diagnose something over the phone or internet... lol

Next time someone says "engine won't turn over", and especially if they do that shit with spinning their finger in a circular motion, I'm just gonna ask "your engine wants a pastry?"

Left is always driver side, right is always passenger side. It’s not at all confusing. Now define the difference between LH and RH swing doors and I’ll see if you pass. That ones slightly more difficult.

LH swing means the hinges are on your left when the door is swinging away from you.

Left hand used to open the door is LH swing and RH swing is right hand used to open the door.

This. I disconnected mine to route above the sway bar (but still below the axle) when I lowered it to give some slack on the shock body. You gotta put a little ass into it to pull 'em to disconnect, but they'll unhook fairly easily if they're not corroded. You're gonna have to replace that/them cables since water has already gotten in and is rusting the cable inside.

Yep, wasn’t too bad at all. Got them rerouted and all is kosher now! :)
