What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I'm ordering HPTuners so CELs and whatnot will not be an issue. The codes and downstream sensors are getting tuned out. As far as loosing torque down low, I'm skeptical on whether or not that will actually happen. I haven't seen people complain about loosing torque when they put long tubes on.

Does your state/area require vehicle inspections? Here they're required every 2 years when you renew the plates. The emissions part they just plug into the OBD port and read the readiness monitors. Most tunes with rear O2s or MIL turned off will not pass inspection.

One of my mustangs has no cats and I just installed MIL eliminators (small heat shrunk resistor pack with O2 harness plugs on each end) that just plug in between the O2 and harness plug to give the EEC the correct reading. It passes all emissions readiness monitors.

I wasn't happy at all after removing my cats... I almost went back to have them reinstalled.

I decided to have a custom Y-pipe built out of 2.5" and regained the bottom end I lost.

I have no downstream O2 sensors, and they’re tuned out by Blackbear. It passes emissions fine. Monitors say they’re ready when I look at them with my Tech 2. BB told me it would pass emissions before I had the sensors tuned out.

In hp tuneres theres a whole tab that will list all the codes that will turn on the check engine light with check boxes next to them. Just uncheck the codes you don’t want to turn on the light.

attempted to go change the right/passenger side hvac blend door actuator, not a single video on "how to" for the 07+, It's sort of the same procedure as the nbs's you have to pull out the passenger side airbag to get access to it, I guess you have to pull off the long dash trim piece that goes from the dic switch to the passenger side, then reach in under the dash and take out 4 10mm bolts, lift out the passenger side airbag module then you can get access to the top blend door actuator which is for the passenger side, at least that's the way it appears.

That's it Wes, just what the manual says for that one.

Today I scheduled an appointment to have the cats and the resonator deleted in two weeks. I'm very excited to hear how much of a difference it makes. Hopefully not too loud.

I suppose its subjective. I’ve never had a car that had an aftermarket exhaust. I’m not straight piping it or putting a flowmaster on it. Just cutting the cats out is all. Resonator too because AFAIK the silverados didnt have them. It’ll still have the stock muffler.

But I suppose the cats off each bank will cut down on a ton of the noise. Will see. Hopefully the neighbors won’t be too bothered by it.

I followed what @kbuskill went through when he cut his out. It wasn’t a quick and easy fix, but I think he finally got what he wanted. (Albeit with 3 mufflers and an extra 50lbs IIRC)

If titanium wasn’t so expensive I’d do an exhaust in that.

It wasn't 3 mufflers in the end... I went through 3 mufflers to get to where I am though.

Ended up with a big 3 foot long, 3 chamber, Magnaflow XL muffler and the factory resonator reinstalled to kill the drone.

Yeah they actually know what they’re doing. Also turned off EGR so I could delete it.

Yeah, so just getting a tuning device and modifying some parameters usually doesn't cut it. OP doesn't have to worry about emissions testing though, so should be fine.

You will lose low end torque. I lost a lot. It's a dog off the line(even if it is 5500lbs), I got a lot of mid-range torque with my longtubes.

Drone is not horrible for me, but the wife hates it. She's used to it now though. You might or might not like it. If you don't, try putting the resonator back on and go from there.

Dashkin is in and I am very pleased with the results/-Looks great- you wouldn't know it's there. I do but wth.... the annoying rattles are gone- only a slight creak from right side. much more pleasant to drive.

Some notes:
2 person job- sliding cap panel in with glue on it.
buy a second tube of rtv- use it because the tbe they give u is not enough. I did but wish I used more of the second tube.
weigh it down- iused a moving blanket and put 4 10lb plate weights and watter bottles.
Let it cure OVERNITE

Success! replaced the passenger/right side blend door actuator, calibrated and no more codes! I used the dorman 604-106 which replaces the oem # 1572971, both the left and right sides use the same part number, the left is on the bottom, right is on the top.

Uh oh...a Dorman part in a hard to get to place? Sure hope it lasts.
