That's crazy low mileage to need new brakes. Maybe they did not bed in properly. That's not a bad price for the brembos installed if they're doing front and rear.

It’s the GM brembo upgrade that they sell for the trucks now. It’s just the fronts and the rear replacement would be the same as stock.

Understood, I looked into the upgrade when the RST tahoe was announced. I was saying if you get the front brembo upgrade with stock rear brake job it would a good price..

The irony of it is my GMT800 truck has bigger rear brakes with dual piston calipers than the newer trucks. Add in the hydroboost and we effectively have better brakes. I'm not sure why GM doesn't offer the Brembo option for the rear as well.

Was at the dealership getting my oil changed and tires rotated last week. The service manager said I’ll need to do the brakes at the next service. I have been seeing a lot more dust on the wheels and the fluid level is down so maybe he’s right.
I want wilwoods. I don’t need them, but wouldn’t mind them. The dealership offered me the GM Brembos up front and stock rear replacements for like $2400 installed lol
As of now I’m running the stock 22”s never installed my 24”s. Does anyone run stock brakes with oversized wheels? On my last gen Escalade I did stock sized slotted rotors ceramic pads and braided lines with my 24”s and didn’t have any issues. Looking for suggestions and or options of what others are running here.

Check the pads yourself for thickness. I wouldn't take their word for it. Pull a wheel and get a measurement on the pad. Usually there's a wear indicator which makes noise to let you know to replace your pads. That wear indicator may be just a simple thin-metal piece that will make contact with the rotor when the pad thickness is low. You can also get GM brake parts a whole lot cheaper online and have the work done cheaper yourself or at another shop. Even though your pads may be low, your blanks should be able to go another 20K miles. Do a pad slap and save yourself a couple thousand bucks.

If you want to go to larger rotors & better pads, check out the Baer Eradispeed system..

You get a Baer 15" rotor & Baer Composite Pads..Tremendous stopping power.

Price on Baer website is under $1600 which will do front & rear including pads..

I run this setup on my 09 Tahoe 6.2 with 20" wheels and it works great.,.

Thirdcoast

I am seeing Baer is over $3k which included calipers.

Wait GM offers Brembo brakes for the front? Or is it GM's version of Brembo? Also does that include calipers?

What's going on with you guys? I have 144,000+ on the 2008 Hybrid and the brakes still look great. Never had a brake job. I wonder if the regenerative braking process keeps the brakes from being used the normal amount?

Yes, it does.

Cabbies love hybrids. Instead of doing their brakes about every 6 months, they get sometimes 2 years out of them. My wife's hybrid Camry has 108k miles on them and they look to be about 80% still. I have done the rears though.
