took a trip to Virginia and filled up with e85. Might be a placebo but i feel it runs better on e85

ugh and like clock work ls oil pan gasket seeping. blah.. you know for all the updates the ls got over a sbc besides a good flowing set of heads the rest is more hassle than it's worth.

sadly I'm sure the gasket is fine just the factory rtv has failed. did the one on my c6 a few years back and gasket was perfect. o ring part wasn't even deformed yet.

this should be the opposite of fun haha.

Love Sheetz. When I was working in Coudersport, PA a few years ago -- okay, it was July '03 -- a tornado went through the area and knocked out all the power in town. Next day Sheetz had a big generator outside powering the store and the pumps, while no one else in town had power. They had a decent food counter so that's where we ate, but life in a dark hotel at night was not all that great. No hot water or lights all week (the office building had a generator, so we were able to work and charge up our cell phones and laptops to use as lights). Lots of folks lost food that was in freezers.

The high winds took out what was left of the historic Kinzua Bridge: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinzua_Bridge

I love your northern PA stories. I miss being up there.

I do miss it, too, although it was only 3.5 years of my working life. Having to travel from here to there could be a bit long, but once we got there it was a unique experience. I miss the people, having breakfast at Erway's Restaurant, and the beautiful countryside. Oh, and the real maple syrup from Wending Creek Farms.

It came to me in a vision, since the truck is now no longer VVT, theres an adapter harness that goes between the stock 5 pin harness and the new 3 pin cam position sensor. Im wondering if when it was unplugged, my replacement adapter crapped out on me. Especially since it was totally fine all this time until now. I ordered an ICT Billet adapter tonight, and im going to swap that out and see what happens. harness is supposed to be here either tomorrow or saturday

So today my right turn signal started blinkin' fast, changed rear brake and turn signal bulbs.
Looked fine at first, then it kept blinkin' fast still.
Double-checked and instead of one light blinking on right turn signal ALL 6 rear lights blinked, wtaf.

Checked wiring and middle chunk mmmmmelted together.
Cut both sides and fixed the wiring and went hunting down to see what the f happened.
Turns out the trailer wiring melted and was zip-tied together with light wires and melted them.

Last time i trailered anything was u-hauls trailer a week or two ago, sigh.....

finally found a little motivation to walk into the garage and change rear shocks.

of course like many others I bumped the wheel speed sensors and it unplugged. dash lit up like a Christmas tree haha.

both been leaking oil for a few months. this shocks are surprisingly light for all that's going on in there.

200 mile roadtrip today to checkout some Airguns in Mt Victory. Somebody said it before but these are the best cruising/roadtrip vehicles. Also notice this little town was so little my bumpers went edge to edge in the street parking spot.

First long trip I took in mine was a 1,200 mile road trip from CA to WY.
Other than trying to squeeze 20mpg out of the beast, it was a joy to drive on that long trip.
Our Yukon stayed in WY since that was the first step in moving to WY permanently.

It's almost too boring doing roadtrips in them because they just get on the highway and just cruise. Im getting ready to take mine down to the Gulf Coast again and its just 70 mph, cruise control and point it in the direction you want to go.

Wiring Harness Swapped out - so far so good.

Gonna dump some "tech" info for incase anyone else has a P0340 code with a DoD motor.

The P0340 is a circuitry error, so likelihood of the sensor being the issue is low - possible - but low. When looking at MY particular swap, the new LS3 ( i think it was LS3 front cover ) had the camshaft sensor and its connecting harness, that was a 3 wire sensor and harness. To interface the harness, there was a little jumper between my factory 5 pin harness that converted it over to the 3 pin, which was a jumper about 3" long or so. This is what had become unclipped from the bolted on harness on the front cover. The ICT Billet harness ( p/n WAVVT40-10 )is a solid 10" or so and it goes from the main engine harness directly to the sensor, so it eliminates a connection point. Tip for replacing the harness, take the 5 seconds to take the serp. belt off. The wiring is in this metal bracket, held on w/ (2) 10mm bolts. The ICT harness could just connect from harness to sensor and be done, but I mounted it into the metal bracket, that cleanly keeps the wiring out of the way of the pulleys. The one modification I had to do with the harness was on the sensor end, there was a little plastic tab that was hitting on something in the sensor, I just cut it out for clearance and it plugged right in. Now it is configured basically how the stock sensor is, and so far, no CEL is or has come on. I do need to drive it more to verify this, but it was turning on every other day or so. It does seem to take fewer cranks to turn over and start, and the idle seems to have smoothed out as well.

For now, im going to caulk this one up to an issue with 1 of the 2 harnesses that were used to switch over from the 5 pin ( VVT ) to the 3 Pin ( non-VVT ) sensor. ICT part number WAVVT40-10
