Anyone have any experiences with H7 halogen bulbs? I've used the Sylvania Silver Star Ultra and the cheap generic ones that came with the headlights and they've both only lasted 1-2 years.
I run the Phillips extra vision I think. They used to be half the price of silver star and they last about 2 years. I tried the LED but wasn't a fan. Basically, they all last about the same time. 2 years or so (in my experience)

These (h11 is my variety)

did you replace it with stock or upgrade?
I used one that I got off of Ebay. I pulled the rear interior out to sound deaden, so routing the wires was easy, and I even ran them into the hatch through the factory rubber conduit. Got power from one of the reverse lights. I have heard that some Tahoes may be plug and play with the factory camera, but I'm not sure if mine had the harness in the hatch already, or not. I had the wiring into the back of the head unit and just wrapped up under the driver seat for the last year, so its good to finally have it working.

I'll run GM OE or the regular Philips bulbs. Not a fan of the extra bright ones as they don't last as long.

My headlight housings are aftermarket with projectors and take an H7 bulb for low beam and an H1 bulb for high beam. So I can't use the H13 style dual filament that's OE and I've heard LEDs don't work too well in projector housings. I do have LEDs in the fog light housings.

LED will work if you get the right one. In some cases theres an A and B orientation you can buy, one is for projecters and the other isnt. Lets just retrofit them. :superhack:

you could go HID which has great light output but in most cases the bulb will not last 2 years, the only vehicle I have had with HID and lasted a really long time was my 03 silverado my sister has it now and she's had it for 5 years now and it still has the bulbs I put in it years before that. for whatever reason those housings must dissipate the heat well or something. I just put in new HID bulbs in the Acadia last month, one of them was out. Well, it would slowly come on, then go out, then slowly come back on and go out gain. Replaced both for good measure

Installed new front wheel bearings. SKF xtracker hybrids, thanks to all for the suggestions on wheel bearings.

And disconnected 3rd pin from headlight switch. Because "off" is actually AUTO (on/off) and "auto" is actually OFF! Only noticed because I had BTDieselworks turn off my auto headlamps, and if I accidentally turned them all the way past "auto" to "off" position, it would activate the auto headlights on next near-term startup.

Pulled the pin out somehow? after I ground down a pick tool.. Not sure how I did it, but it took some doing! Ordered some terminal pin removal tools from ebay for next time!

how did you find the leak? were you able to see it from the inside?
I was doing the typical tests with a hose by the sunroof, top of door seals, and the cowl area and none resulted in any water inside.
Then I decided to take the fender off and sprayed water at the seam sealer and water immediately made it inside.
I had already pulled the carpet away from the corner under the MBEC junction block and was able to see the water pooling.

What are the names/part numbers for those rubbery flappy panels on each side of the radiator that help direct airflow into the radiator?

I've seen them posted and talked about in the forums, but don't know what to search for

I ended up making my own sets for thecopcar and theothertwin using coreten.
