Thanks yeah me too. Nope that's the whole reason I took it off to begin with was to try and find a leak in there. And you really can't see much under there anyway. There is like a big steel compartment welded to the firewall under there can't see jack under it.

I know it sounds bad but you might have to pull the windshield. my obs was like that, never could find it. but the windshield was cracked when I got it, so I had it changed. few years later I found a leak, searched and searched under the passengers side dash for it. never found it. we had a small hurricane go thru Nola and it finally rained hard enough it was wet up at the head liner.
it was life time on the windshield, so I had them pull it and last guy hadn't sealed it well or something. had to grind down some rust, prime the area and put the windshield back.

that finally fixed it.

How is it sound wise with the bose setup
The sound is very good until you really push it, better than stock. The stock speakers are not the best.

There is a "32 band equalizer" that seems to work to adjust to taste.

I'll see if I can get a video up later this week, I'll go through the setting and stuff - I have never posted anything on YouTube before. If there is something you want to see, let me know.

Also, the product page says that it wont work with the CD and DVD slot radio - this is untrue (it's what I had). It just won't work with the white plug stereos without some kind of adapter.

Edited***

The unit is basically an Android tablet with an amp and plugs. It runs carplay "on top" of the interface like an app. There are also tons of RCA in's/out's on the unit. I may add a sub amp or something down the line - but it is good enough for me as is in reality.

Yeah I been searching the hell out of this forum about it and saw your past posts. Hopefully it won't come to that.

I went for one of the more "expensive" units. It was originally grouped with 2 other models on Amazon - the other 2 had knobs. I was going to buy a knobbed one but realized I haven't used a DVD or CD in 20 years or so.

There are buttons on the bottom but I use the steering wheel controls mostly. Everything is included but it may need something for the rear screen if you have one. I didn't bother hooking it up.

It has carplay for apple that works great - wireless. I was also able to download Netflix, YouTube TV and Amazon Prime to the unit and stream from my driveway. I am sure you can tether to your phone n the road if you want to watch tv and kill someone.

I cut the supplied harness's reverse line as I have the camera in the mirror. In my setup, the screen would go black in reverse with the unit, now it just stays as a normal screen (the mirror still works).

The sound was way loud at first - I had to go in the factory settings using code "0000" and tell the unit that I had an amplifier and adjusted the "gain". I didn't even end up using any of the 3 USB ports - just wireless. So, install took less than an hour in total. Simple plug and play.

Edited****
CarPlay is what apple uses for texts, calls, navigation, music apps. There is no web browser. The unit itself has chrome installed.
My system has the standard Bose amp - the unit integrated with it. Fade/balance works as you would expect.

I am assuming it uses your phone wifi for the chrome browser? Does it have it's own GPS antennae?

What do you think? @PG01 says he had this problem. @swathdiver said he sealed his. I did a test dab of silicone sealant to see what happens.

Think all of our fins have that cracked gasket, definitely seems like water would seep in there, especially if parked downhill.
Although I would expect some headliner stains, but maybe it drips along the wire or underside of roof...
I had a headliner stain when the rear liftgate wiring boot popped loose, luckily it cleaned right up...

usually that is either a bad typo or sometimes sellers will make the price crazy because they are out of stock but don't want to loose the internet listing history. so when they get more they then put the price back to normal, lot's of places do this. I see it all the time for packaging supplies I buy regularly when they are out of stock the price is like $1000.00

There's 2 different rubber "seals" on these. The inner one is the actual seal and this outer one is just a rubber mount surface to protect the paint.

Here's some good info on this with some pics

Did the air ride compressor and rear shocks finally weekend before last. Was a breeze; nice to not have a compressor that sounds like it has brain cancer, for one..but for two, it was starting to run a lot more and lo and behold, RR shock was leaking a bit.

Went ahead and took a chance on the Vigor air shocks and they seem adequate...nice, even. For anyone still on the fence about them. Considering they're 1/2 to 1/3 of the price of others...hell, even if they only hold up a few years I still call it a win. Shipping was decently quick (and free).

Of course, one week after doing that the throttle body takes a dump...but at 150k we're starting to creep into the territory where random crap is gonna happen once in a while I suppose.

We're one year into ownership of this thing and have put about 25,000 miles on it and I can say we genuinely still love this thing.

My Yukon has about 130k on it now.
I just looked up the price of a new throttle body and for a little over $100 I think I will order one and have it on the shelf, just in case.

Thanks for the link.
My Yukon is 100% stock so no CAI.
Not sure how much of a difference it would make since the temps never really get much above 90* even in the hottest summer days.
And, since it gets below zero in the winter I just wonder how that would effect the engine if I had a CAI installed.

I have modded just about every vehicle I have ever owned but I am trying real hard not to go down that rabbit hole with this one.
I'm already planning on doing sway bars and SS brake lines but I don't want to go down that slippery slope.

Welp, get to chase down the dreaded/random "Service 4x4" message as of today, on the heels of the throttle body and the air ride stuff.

Gotta love when stuff hits 150k, lol.

just sound, and I like the design of this one better I figured if it is good enough for Camaro's & Corvette's it's good enough for me
