Sometimes when I drive my 07 escalade it seems like my trains fluid doesn't circulate and heats up pretty good. Is there a thermostat like there is on the coolant? Also once it gets up to 170 degrees you can feel a little bit of a drag. Like when u let off the throttle it doesn't cost very well.

Any ideas

Its acting up around 180. Which is real low. It shouldn't be doing anything til above 250

180* is an acceptable medium temp for long service life, 250* would be bad for the fluid and the transmission

I thought I read somehwhere in the owners manual that the safe operating limit was about 200-210 on the high end? Could be way off tho...

trans temps should be very similar to engine temps. i run a tru cool max trans cooler. really helps since i have oversized tires and how hot it is here in central texas.

if your trans is acting up, i would check the level.

not sure how the **** your truck doesn't coast well when it gets to a certain temp? not sure how you figure that.

I would think a larger coil would keep it cooler. Is there a aftermarket one people use?
