That was the thing that bothered me most, the fact that they didn’t have anything older. Like I would have been perfectly fine with another 08-14 tahoe but they were literally nowhere to be found. Main thing I don’t like about this Suburban and it’s probably just me but it’s way too damn fancy. Like a rich dude who wants to say he has a truck but doesn’t want to give up his Apple car play

Great restraint on buying a slightly used vehicle. It seems that most people want a brand new car no matter what the cost! I have this one arrogant friend recently tell me that he only buys new because he wants a vehicle that no one has ever farted in the seat....... obviously he has more disposable income than most Haha.
I just bought a 2009 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid that had an MSRP of over 54k when new for less than 7k I really do not care how many farts have been let in the seat LMFAO and if I was concerned i would simply buy a new seat for a lot less than the 47k saved.

Does it have a new battery? When I was looking for my Yukon the salesperson said the battery wouldnt last more than 7-8 years and would be very expensive to replace. Scared me off.

But it is nice hitting a button and have those third-row seats fold down and disappear!

So I planned a nice thanksgiving trip/vacation to drive up to New York and visit my mom for the holiday. I prepped the Tahoe, got a roof cargo bag, changed the oil pan gasket, changed the block off plate gasket and oil pickup tube o ring. Replace wipers, replaced bulbs, made sure everything was 1300mi road trip worthy. Made the trip with ease no issues whatsoever. Had a good thanksgiving until I decided to check on the truck.

The weather had turned and got seriously cold. It was 13 degrees one night with also 30mph winds. I realize that the truck is leaking oil. So the next day I run over to the advanced auto parts 2 min away from my mothers house, I grabbed a 5L of 10w30 and some Lucas oil leak stuff. Got back to the house and followed the directions added the Lucas, and topped off the oil.

Took the truck for a ride, drove around pretty much all day. Got the truck back to the house and everything seemed fine, until the next day...

I was greeted with a large oil stain in the driveway. So I said ok what are my options. I bounced around the idea of getting it fixed but at 114,000 miles it seemed like everything was starting to show its problems. Right next to my moms house is a Toyota dealer, I decided to go look at what they had. After being told that all they stock at their dealership was 4wd vehicles I kinda got turned off because that easily added 10k to the price. Also the fact that they wanted 40k for a showroom model 4Runner.

Took a ride to the nearest Chevy dealer. I was looking at a certified preowned Silverado but it was 4wd. So the sales guy tells me he has something certified preowned that’s 2wd. He brings it up front and it’s a 2017 Suburban LT. So I tell him to work on the price and I will come back tomorrow if he can get the price where I want it.

The next day he calls and tells me what he can do and that I should come down to talk about it

So I’m on my way over to the dealer and the oil pressure pegs 80psi and the engine light comes on. I pull over and look under the truck and it’s leaking oil pretty badly. Luckily I was right down the road from the dealer.

I get there he offers me 10.5k for my Tahoe and long story short I left with a 2017 Suburban LT

I really didn’t want such a big truck and new payment but I had little choice in how I was supposed to get my family home safely.

All said and done the truck itself was priced at $26,250

Well, I guess you won't be racing the Tahoe but now you can bring the Suburban to the drags, we still have to pick a date!

You're going to like the extra storage capacity and not even notice the extra length, so long as it fits in your garage!

You did good on the new purchase but had you called @Galante or @Tonyrodz or even @Cattivo, they would have come over and fixed your truck and sent you home for a lot less!

Ohh, does your RPO Sheet show AXN?

Do you have your own windmill or water wheel hooked to a generator???

Just curious how you get the electricity to charge the batteries without burning "fossil fuels"?

Battery is original, can get a reconditioned 300V hybrid battery for around 2500 bones if needed. I would not recommend a used Hybrid if it was to be your sole means of transportation. For me it is just a beater to drive to work plus the technology fascinates me. Check out this pic of the hybrid battery under the second row seats. I took it apart the other day to check and clean it. It is in good shape and had good volatge readings on all modules, it should go another 100k easy. The GM TwoMode Hybrid has a fascinating history. The MSRP on this one was over 54k but people say that GM had invested way more than that into each unit. After snooping around the truck pretty good my guess is that the actual cost to GM was for sure way higher, this technology did not come cheap. Unfortunately if something serious goes wrong with the Hybrid system it WILL be an expensive fix and probably will make it a scrap yard vehicle LOL. Perhaps if that happens the wheels / Tires / Misc parts and Hybrid parts could be sold off to recover a portion of my small investment. I really like the ole ** and hope it does well for me. Only part I miss from my 18 Sierra is a heated steering wheel, I may have to figure out a way to swap one on there Hahahahaha...

@RebelBelle drives his hybrid regularly to and from work each work, several hundred miles at least. I forget his mileage, he recently did an AFM repair but the rest is till humming along fine.

You can add the heated steering wheel to your truck.

Well I was happy until two days ago when the ac quit. I’m not a happy camper with this truck. I really don’t like it. Electric steering feels funny. Lane assist (let me drive the car please) is a joke. It shakes at idle (I’m told it’s due to a design flaw with the motor mounts) ********. Truck that’s worth 32k and it’s like driving something 10 years old that someone barely took care of. I’m getting pretty fed up with Chevy in general. From their lack to back their loyal customers to their overall products being pretty crappy. After however many years developing these v8 engines, you can’t get the vibration under control? Really?

Sorry just ranting my frustration

It's probably a motor mount. If you do not like your dealer, take it to another one. Oh, does the dealer in NY or the state of have a return guarantee if you don't like it?
