That was a lot of soldering and heat shrinking. Some of the wires had multiples, like 3 tan wires on one connector or colors had changed a bit and I made sure to match the exact cavity to cavity on those. All done though and with the fabric tape they look like factory.

Esky cluster FTW! Pretty much done. Of course the paint didn’t match. I’m thinking there has to be another color code for the Ebony of this year. I called the dealer and they were no help. I’m just gonna rock the two tone lower half for now. There’s a few other pieces on the way from EBay; headlight switch panel, traction control and accessory outlet panel, and an LTZ cluster bezel that I’ll combine with the Esky bezel I already have. I’m having an issue with the DIC buttons sticking due to the wrap but I’ll figure out. I really like the look, the cluster sets it all off.

Also, I read on GMFS that some guys didn’t like the Esky cluster because it doesn’t have an oil pressure gauge which is not true. It just doesn’t have a DEDICATED one, it’s in the DIC menu. It also has a trans temp gauge and compass available.

Yessir. I didn’t realize this dash has so much less room behind the HU. I had to cut a bit of plastic and route the harness for it down through a groove behind it, and reroute the HVAC harnesses around the back and down. Good thing I added plenty of extra wire length.

So...even though the wrap looks ok..I’m still having a problem with the DIC switches sticking and I already ruined one set trying to grind enough off to make them work. So I decided to just buy the brushed metal trim pieces. I ordered the middle vent piece, the big one, and the main trim around the HU / HVAC for $105 shipped and I’ll keep an eye out for the other 2 vent pieces at good prices. It takes a lot of searching to find them reasonable. Then I’ll sell the wood grain ones and recoup some of my money.

I thought the same thing, but I thought you wanted the jump seat for your 4 legged buddy. The Machine would look nice with a console--plus you'd have room for some more stuff in the center console.

Great idea, and it won’t cost a fortune. And I still have the headlights to do. I was actually in the middle of prepping them for paint and deciding on what I’m gonna do different this time when I decided to do the dash swap. I have them both opened and cleaned. But LED’s should be fairly easy to do on the NNBS. They’re already SMD LED’s. Just need to unsolder the old ones and solder in new ones.
Edit: at least SOME of them are. I think.

Holy crap the ones in the DIC are tiny! I dunno...I used to solder stuff like this but we used expensive equipment. I at least need a magnifying light, maybe a better soldering station. And flux for the solder pads. And tiny solder. And wick to absorb extra solder.
