Well...I went back out and checked misfires again and noticed #7 was racking up a few, like 14-18 per 100 cycles which isn’t terrible but not great either. Of course that’s the rear driver side. Real fun to get to for me, almost need to pull the wheel and inner fender. I pulled the wire, slid the heat shield back and there’s a place on the wire where the insulator is burned a bit. I put it back on with a lot of grunting, turned a bit so the burned spot is facing away from the header. The wires spec’d for the LQ4 are just too long. So I emailed Taylor to see if there’s a shorter set. They don’t list lengths on their website which is stupid IMO. Looks like Im still chasing the damn burned wire problem and Im pretty damn tired of it.
Dammit! That sucks man! I just ordered my Taylor wires, and I think they were 9.5” length. I know there are 2 different coil part numbers, and I believe the standard type wire sets length is dictated by that coil number. I’ll go measure my Taylor’s.

So I tried to measure, but not sure if they count the total length, or length with the boot or what. Here’s mine:

The kit I bought is the “LS Truck” set, with 135 degree boots b03f9a99f6f702be66dc5125c7fbc233.jpg

Not sure if it helps you but here is my set of Accel wires vs stock, so far no issues for me and they do have positive feel going in IMG_0758.jpegIMG_0759.jpeg

When you say heat shield, do you mean the heat sock? Those kind of suck. I burned through one too. Does Taylor sell kits that you can cut your own length wires? I wonder if there's some way to modify the metal shields on the stock wires to fit the Taylor wire ends. Also--maybe you can get some of those metal zip tie deals and use them to pull the wires away from the headers if they look too close.
Yeah, the socks. Without them the wires go real fast. There’s no place to pull the wires away, there’s just too much wire. They need to be shorter. I don’t want to make my own, I need them to be strong when you pull on them like the race wires are. I’ve had too many ends pull off of wires.

Mine look to be the same length, 11 3/4” overall with the exposed red wire part of about 6 1/4”. I want some about 2” shorter. My kit is 79205.

Can you twist the wire one turn before plugging it in place so that it's like a curlycue?

I don’t want them to look like that. It’s The Beast. It must look cool lol. I just now ordered some titanium boots for about $60. We will see. Those combined with some shorter wires.

You are not going to like them, I still have my set somewhere, simply they look cheesy but just my opinion. I am pretty confident at the end of the day you will turn in to ceramic boot
