As I’m working my way forward in the truck I noticed GM has helpful hints molded into the interior plastic parts. Something I never have observed until now. Things like “front” or “out” with an arrow, “pass” or “driver”. I wonder if they still do that.

And now one of the things they did that was a big mistake imo. The carpet they used for the seat backs, console sides, and door panels is terrible as far as catching and holding stuff like pet hair or pine needles. I have tried the vacuum, a Lilly brush and a wire coil brush but nothing gets everything out. The best is the coil brush. This thing is awesome at removing pet hair from normal carpet but it kind of grabs this stuff. It got most stuff out but I still fought every single pine needle.
There was some loose bits and I glued that down with the Plio-Bond that I used on the door panel carpet since I know it holds up even when it gets hot inside in the summer which every other contact or carpet glue failed to do.

I was originally just working on the rear interior but of course I’ll end up doing it all. I cleaned the second row seatbelts and of course the fronts needed it too, especially the driver one. After 21 years it was pretty bad. Yesterday I cleaned the front passenger one and it came out good. Then I did the driver side and let it dry overnight and this morning I saw a couple spots that needed more attention so I upped the process. Yesterday it was Dawn, a scrub brush, and a steamer. Today I added Tide HE laundry detergent and scrubbed the hell out of it and hosed it off good. I’ll see how it looks when it dries again. I’m kinda done, not much more I can do. It looks pretty good. It’s not in the pics, but I used a 1 x 6 wrapped in an old towel and leaned it up against the seat so I had a good surface to scrub against. Still a PIA. If I could have removed the belts like I did the rears it would have been easier but they’re inside the seat back.

I hear you. We have two dogs (a Beagle and a Spaniel mix), it was impossible to get up the beagles hair until I discovered the Analan Mini Pet Hair Remover tool. You can get it on Amazon. If you have pets it is a most have for your car detailing kit. It works amazing.

The transition carpet pieces that snap in behind the middle row had a couple broken tabs where the clips mount. I tried my regular plastic repair epoxy, Fusor, yesterday and today I tried to install it and the tabs came off again. Today I used my Q-Bond which is a powder which you drip the activator onto. We will see if it works tomorrow, I’ll let it sit a day first.

Awesome, another pet hair removal tool in my toolbox! I ordered one. Honestly, that wire tool I have used amazing and it gets every single hair in one or 2 passes. It’s just hard to use on the type of stuff that’s on the seat backs. That’s not normal carpet, more like an indoor-outdoor stuff. The wire coil brush grabs on it and I have to be careful not to damage it. But for regular carpet it can’t be beat. It even gets every single strand off the heavy black carpet I put in my Silverado. Nothing I’ve tried even gets close.

Interior freshen is pretty much done, just need clean the cargo area floor carpet, I did the sides before I installed the trim. It looks so much better, pretty much like new except the driver carpet mat because it’s worn. I’m gonna contact Stock Interiors and see if I can order just the one or maybe the front pair.

I always keep my lint free towels in my driver seat back too. Also keep one in the driver's door pocket with an absorber in it's case.

I like the carpet mats. I’m not a fan of any rubber mats but I have been running some OEM ones in my Silverado because my dogs hair was an issue until I found a couple different solutions recently so I’ll be installing the matching carpet ones I have. Might be different if I lived somewhere there was much snow in the winter. I really don’t care for the type that goes up the sides like Weatherbeater or Husky though.
