Put the other head on today along with both ****** headers.
Waiting for trunnion kit and pushrods. Then the top end should be ok for awhile.
Got to hand it to the local machine shop, they got the bolt out of the head so I can continue. Dodge a bullet there. Thanks

Noticed putting in steam plugs that I don’t have the grid layout of pipe picking up both the front and rear of the heads like other 5.3’s. Just the front , plugs in the back. I guess that’s ok?

New valve cover gaskets and grommets. Put on coil packs, plugs and wires. Put dipstick back in. Noticed intake gasket had a few leaks, will put on tomorrow with new gaskets. Noticed some oil coming out of intake, needs a cleaning bad. That’s half of it s cleaning the parts before putting back

Nice got advice from folks that confirmed 3/8 for pulley shaft on power steering. Tap it out, put pulley the rest of the way on.

Water pump on today , radiator back in, having trouble with c clips on radiator but I read advice from rocket man to attach c clip first to plastic collar then push over line. I have been trying to get both ends to snap at the same time. What a pain in the ...... serpent belt is close to going on, really tight.

Finally got the last c clip in after loosing one. New heater hoses, and put on shrouds for fan. Loaded coolant and oil. Forgot key was on. Hooked up battery and the fuel pump fired off. Damn I wanted to spin the baby over for awhile to see oil pressure. But the dang thing started YES!!!!! Shut it off real quick because it was fuc#$&+ loud. Pulled fuse for fuel pump. Will pull fuse for spark and spin the baby over. Started it twice real quick thinking I could burn the fuel off, but nope. One happy camper. Need to tow to welder for down tubes to y pipe and magnaflow cat back. Then custom tune. WOW

Removing old exhaust. Both downtubes and cats same diameter, just going to put coupler on and not weld. Hard to find shop close that welds stainless. Should have it pretty close today. Will definitely post after getting it done.

Put magnaflow catback on, hanging loose till I get new headers. The black cats were for a two wheel drive. Got under there to put the down tube on and it would run into front driveline. It’s ok . Took the headers off today, this will give me time to put catch can on. Chomping at the bit man. Maybe this weekend. Getting the original flanges welded back on to y pipe. So everything will look stock and bolt right on to new headers.

Whoa headers came today. Hurried with catch can and then installed passenger side header. Have to wait for dip stick tube to show Friday. Will install rest of exhaust tomorrow. I'll go back and redo hose for catch can from on top a little wonky.

I couldn’t get the nuts off. Even after I removed exhaust manifold and in vise, soaked with pb still had a bear of a time getting the nuts off. So I thought I was not going to use that part (flange) anyway so I sawed em off.
Should have other side (header) done today and y pipe mounted. Dip stick needs to be replaced. I’m going to fire that mother today.
