I think you are missing their point..

Do you like going to the dealer and saving constantly?

For the record, I don't think you made a wrong decision. Not everyone has the same options.
But I would be interested to hear if you go a 4th time for the same lifter.
Others here mentioned changing the VLOM, which I don't see on your repair order..

*if* it happens again, I would bring that up with them next time..

Im not a mechanic, and the dealer is the only one who has a warranty for two years where a private mechanic can’t warranty the fix so what else am I supposed to do? It’s failed four times now since last November. If these guys were so good they would be master mechanics. I don’t value their opinions. It’s already paid for.

Added some comments above.
For the record, I made a sad face due to your 'master mechanics and don't value their opinions' comment.

If you're not a mechanic, why rag on the people who have fixed it themselves, with a better track record than your dealer, who are trying to give you advice?

You even said yourself -
"It’s probably going to go out again."

*IF* it does go out again, force them to replace the VLOM as @Blackcar so kindly explained.

Top affordable/easy/better option, is to have your ECM tuned to eliminate AFM/DOD.
Then you won't activate the part, that they didn't replace, that is probably the reason for your bent pushrods..

How did I even end up here? I'm usually in the older forums. And I doubt I will ever buy another Chevy..
Nice being here... but so long '15-'20 forum!

They did replace the VLOM last week it’s around $230 out of pocket. I don’t have the R.0. It’s in my center console.

I feel this "dealer issue" myself. Or atleast for the company I work for. We have 3 delivery trucks. 2 that are 23s and one is a 24. One of the 23s has 69,000 miles and started missing. They took it to the dealer and 8 hrs of labor just to take the valve cover off and get into the head. They called today and said bent valve and bad lifter. O and piston damage. I drove it there and it ran like it was brand new. They said 10 grand to fix or 12 grand for a new motor! At 69,000 miles!! 9 grand out of warranty! I used to work for a couple of dealers but crap, they suck!!!
