I just got some Esky appliques via UPS. Now all I need are some Esky lights... Hey, Robbie, what have you been up to lately?! ;)

Can't wait!

OEM>replica

;)

HA! And I agree with you and wish I had them. Had I been lucky like Brent to get em for 275 (HOW?!?!) I would've done the same..

But the cheapest I saw the oem esky tails for was 430 and that's over 100 what I paid for these. PLUS no harnesses or 6 ohm resistor to buy... so basically my budget drove me to the replica side.. it's not my fault! :chicken: :emotions122:

A couple of things I noticed that set these apart from real Escalade lights is that they flash the opposite of your mirrors for turn signal/hazards. They are off when the mirror signal is on, and on when the mirrors are off. No big deal, it's just different. Also, that big grey box is not a resistor, it's a flasher that's pretty loud when it clicks on/off for signals. It'll be interesting to see how long these last.

So if i were driving behind u. That flasing would drive me crazy lol. Hhmm sorta like the turn signals on the nbs silverado.

My OEM escalade lamps do that.

I know that with the G3 and G4 lights, hitting the brakes also "resets" the blinker flashing sequence. That is, when you have the turn signal on, and then hit the brakes, the blinker will immediately start with a flash, regardless of where in the flash cycle it was before the brakes were applied.

I THINK the oem Esky set up behaves the same way, but I'm not certain...

Dammit, you're right. Today they are in sync. I was hoping this issue was solved over adapting the OEM lights. So you're saying that depending on when I hit the brakes with the signal on, I might end up "out of sync" again? Seems these are practically identical to Escalade lights other than being made in Taiwan.

What were you expecting? >kidding!< Haha

Seriously though... I'd be surprised if your lights were "back in sync" with any kind of permanence. What I mean is, I don't think they "reset" until the next time that you apply the brakes -- I just think that each time the brakes are pressed when the blinker is already on, it'll start the sequence over starting with the blinker light coming on.

So, if your blinker is something like this:

On....On....On...On...

Then applying the brake might do this:

On...On/On...On...On...

I don't think it STAYS in that pattern... I think that when the brake is stabbed, the light flashes, no matter where in the pattern the flasher was, and then flashes in time from there.

I don't think there's any correcting it. And if you're so OCD that you TRY to keep it in sync by timing your braking, well, you should see someone about that. LOL

Again, I don't know that the oem ones don't respond the same exact way. They may. They may not. BUT, I'm pretty sure they blink WITH the mirror's signal, and not opposite. (Could be wrong about that one, too.)

Remember, there are three possible scenarios:

1. The tail, mirror, and in-dash flasher all blink together.
2. The tail and flasher blink together while the mirror is opposite.
3. The tail and mirror blink together while the flasher is opposite.

To be sure what's going on, I'd back up toward a wall at night and see what's going on once and for all.

Well at this point the G5's are pretty much identical to the OEM's... hope the appliques fit flush to the G5's..

The factories aren't made in Taiwan or China?

OEM is made in China, so maybe these are actually better.:)

Well, I haven't seem them go out of sync since the install last night, but if they do, only the guy behind me will notice so I'm good with that. Now I just need to find a smokin' deal on the appliques. My "factory SS" is almost done.
