I am getting this code P0167 and google says Bank 2 Sensor 3.

I cleared it through my radio before thinking to pull out the Innova 3150 to see what it brings up.

But we don't have a 3rd o2 sensor on either bank, do we? Just 2 up and 2 down I thought?

Or does this code refer to something else on our platform? When / if it come back on, I'll scan it to see what the 3150 brings up.

Strange; RockAuto lists AC Delco upstream, downstream and center O2 sensors. Is there 3 in each bank of the NNBS?

I don't see 3. 2 pre cat. 2 post cat. I am not sure where the "center" would be. I drove 65 miles to work this morning and the light stayed off. I'll see what happens during lunch and after work. That will prob be another 80-90 miles since I have a alignment appointment.

And I may stop by the new Hobby Shop to get a motor for my Rampage XTe since I destroyed the Leopard 4092.

Never seen this code for the GMT900s, not even in my manual.

Check engine light popped up and when I checked it through my radio, that's the CEL # that popped up. Google had me confused since it was only 2 results that had info about that particular code.

For all of yous who doubted me.

Only took 400 miles to pop back up. I will put the scanner on it during lunch to see what it says.

I was just looking at some information that shows some vehicles with a sensor on the exhaust manifolds themselves as well as the ones right in front of and behind the cats; it said there's 2 upstream ones to more accurately measure the pre-cat level. Maybe look at your exhaust manifold under the hood to see. Either way, everything points to that code being related to the one that's downstream of the cat on the passenger side and there's only one downstream sensor on each bank.

Well the dealership cross threaded the hell out of that 02 sensor when they did my cat replacement and took me 4 hrs to get that o2 sensor out and I managed to get the new o2 sensor in there fairly well, so I hope that is not the issue.

The GMT900s only have 4 02 sensors, 2 on each side, one before and one after each catalytic converter. Your aftermarket head unit used a non-standard code but at least it alerted you to a problem.

Did they do a learn reset with the scan tool after changing out the O2 Sensor?

You got that code after you replaced that sensor or before? It looks like the new one isn't seated all the way.

I had the battery unplugged since i also had to replace the front impact sensor.

You see the picture if the o2 sensor I removed from that spot? Lol.

I see that sensor, so I guess that answers the question. Did you clear the code after?

Everything was clear when I reconnected the battery. No CEL'S were displayed, so I didnt hook up the scanner to check stored codes.

So, i guess No is the answer to your question.

That doesn't initiate a relearn. A scan tool is what's needed so that the new sensor doesn't fail.
Radio read the wrong code. P0157

I don't know anything about the relearn process. But I think I will wrap thread tape or something around the o2 sensor for a better seal.

I doubt the dealership with warranty a $900 CAT Y-Pipe, especially since I removed the o2 sensor that they botched.

You would need a Tech2 or similar to do that. That's the right code, what is the other code?
Ok. Just 1 code. 2 pages. 2nd page just said sensor 2 bank 2.

I cleared it, so let's see what happens. I'm up for inspection in January .

You should be good to just clear the code. Why do you think a Tech 2 is needed @swathdiver so that the sensor doesn't fail? I've never heard of that, I just replace the sensor and clear the code with a code reader and all is good. All that's needed after that is a drive cycle.

That's the manual's procedure when replacing O2 sensors.

Heated Oxygen Sensor Resistance Learn Reset Caution

Caution: When replacing the HO2S perform the following:

A code clear with a scan tool, regardless of whether or not a DTC is set
HO2S heater resistance learn reset with a scan tool, where available
Perform the above in order to reset the HO2S resistance learned value and avoid possible HO2S failure.

What manual are you referring to?
Edit: never mind, I see that's the recommended procedure for the 2007-up models although I've never heard of anyone having a problem if they didn't. I guess it's possible though.
