    Side Blind Zone System Unvailable?

I've had that happen on my Tahoe 3-4 times since new, and every time I think I'll have the dealer look it over, 1-2 key on/key off cycles and it fixes itself before I can bring it in. I would not worry about it unless it stays broken and the dealer can diagnose it.

Most often stolen SUVs and trucks

The guy that handles the trucks directly sends out reports on all the trucks stops (landmarks), idle alerts, odd hour alerts, speeding, service due, fuel report etc. Most trucks are 1-3 years old max so I'd say that's '04 or '05 through 2013's. Gas trucks usually get "retired" around 100K miles...

Most often stolen SUVs and trucks

No, just experienced. Fords rank dead last in repairs per vehicle, GM second, and Dodge is right now on top. This includes all major repairs where the truck is out of service for more than 24 hours, not just the motor. This changed last year when GM slipped to #2. I've been here 6 years, and for...

Most often stolen SUVs and trucks

Puleeez, trash talkin' started with you. Super Duty problems are so well documented, I won't take the time to embarrass you here. I've got years of experience with most trucks in a fleet situation where everything is maintained by the book, so backpedaling with the "it really comes down to...

Fuel economy before and after a tune?

You're right, there are a lot of variables, from engine size, 2WD VS 4WD/AWD, gearing, etc. Then throw in the differences in tunes (max power VS mileage like yours). My guess is most trucks don't gain much for mileage unless it's an "economy" tune. My 6.2 Tahoe 4X4 gained very little, but...

    Door lock actuator failure

A good thing. They want big dollars to put the same crappy parts back in when they fail. As cheesy as the stock part is, it's amazing they last as long as they do.

    Door lock actuator failure

Yes, but unless you're under the 3 year mark, Jennifer and GM won't help you for free. The Gruven solution is pretty much a permanent repair. The GM part is not.

I know, I know I am beating a dead horse!

Mine's still not right and I just haven't bothered doing anything about it. The 2-3 shift is too early unless I'm into the gas and they still need to be firmed up just a bit more. Goes like a raped ape when you mat the pedal and shifts right at 6000 though. My last run in with an Esky or Denali...

I know, I know I am beating a dead horse!

91, it's the best we get in Ca. and all 6.2's should be running premium.

I know, I know I am beating a dead horse!

16 HP at the tires was before and after a dyno. The second run was quite a bit hotter than the first run 3 months earlier, probably 65 deg. VS 85 deg., but I didn't have a thermometer handy. It was the same dyno and experienced operator. I did not do it again after the tube, but BB did re-tune...

I know, I know I am beating a dead horse!

My Tahoe picked up 16 RWHP from the tune alone, more after adding the tube and a K&N drop in.

Looking for a new vehicle; best Tahoe or Yukon in the past 7 years?

I don't like the look of the Yukon, but I do like power, so for me the choice was easy. The only year of 4X4 Tahoe with the 6.2L, 2009.

    Turn signal LED resistor...

You want the 6 ohm 50W models from V-LED's. They are able to dissipate twice as much heat (50W VS 25W). You're not looking to match the wattage of the bulbs, and no LED is even close to 25 watts. I also recommend finding a spot to mount them to the body, or better yet, use the mounting plates...

GM What's the deal with your engines?

Much of this became a problem when GM stopped sizing pistons to bores on an individual basis and started the "any piston fits in any bore" method of building engines. Within a specified range, any piston does in fact fit in any cylinder. Given that too tight of a final clearance is far worse...

    2014 Model Year Outrage!

If you want rare, the last of something usually isn't it, and it isn't always the best of a run. I went with the only 6.2 4X4 Tahoe ever made, 2009 MY only. Even that isn't likely to be much of a "classic".

    LED exterior lights

The 5 LED type I have are the same length as a 168 and the light spread works well. The first super bright ones suggested and some of the others definitely do not work for both reasons.

    LED exterior lights

That's what I use for 168's in the 5K version. Perfect replacement for stock bulbs and half the cost of the eye burners. I've had some for over 3 years now, no issues.

    LED exterior lights

No those V-Leds would be fine, but they are very bright. Personally, I was fine with the cheaper 5 LED bulbs (I think $5/pair), they're at least as bright as the stock bulbs and I think they rate them as a "4" for brightness. What you have picked out are definitely much brighter, rated 5 out of 5.

    LED exterior lights

Those 168's might be too much for puddle/license plate unless you like things really bright. I had that in the trunk of my Avalon and they're eye burners. I used the cheaper 5K 5 LED 168's and they're fine. I have the older version of the 7440's for reverse lights in Gen 5 tails and they're...

Want to make a 6.2 stupid fast

I'd listen to Jenna on this. I don't run E85 and won't based on issues friends have had with fuel system problems, finding fuel, etc. It does make more power, but can be a PITA with forced induction and the truck will gobble it up like a starving kid in a candy store. Better to build/tune for...

Love my Yukon but come on GM.....

If it makes you feel better, I bought one of the first GC's, a full tilt '93, V8, 4X4, etc. I actually sold it instead of pushing to lemon it. I liked it despite it's issues, so 4 years later bought another loaded to the gills '97 figuring the problems had been sorted. That one Chrysler bought...
