I changed the battery a moment ago. There's a few extra steps involved to remove it, but it beats going to the dealership and getting charged $600 bucks. All you need is a socket wrench, 10" extender, 10mm, 13mm, and a flathead screwdriver.
Definitely that's the way to go. I do batteries myself, but at least here in Florida, just about all of the auto parts stores will install the battery for free if you buy it from them.
I have a Noco and a Gooloo or something from Amazon. When I check the Noco after a few weeks it's usually around 75% but the Gooloo is still full. I keep the Noco in my Son's 4 cylinder since it doesn't need as many amps to crank. We usually get around 5 years out of an OEM battery here in Houston so I haven't bought anything for the Yukon yet. Aftermarket batteries are lucky to last 3 years in this heat. I have had good luck with the Walmart AGM Platinum models though.
Not in southern California. Once you buy it, they want you off the property... Not loitering for an hour or so, making a mess in their parking lot.

I thought I had read the new trucks were getting painted frames and didn't think much of it when I looked at the diff cradle and transmission cross member were painted. We are near saltwater but not as bad as environment as up North.
My ram (painted frame) has been through 10 norther michigan winters now. The undercarriage still looks WAAAAAAAAAY better than the wifes 4 year old denali did. It was almost embarrassing.
I would definitely say paint is better than a non-hardening coating. We had some knucklehead scientists use bags of salt to hold down a tarp on some items in the bed of a brand new Silverado at one place I worked. They had to do a field demo on some hardware I built. The frame was totally rusted below the drain holes in the bed. I was shaking my head at those fools.
I've had capless gas and diesel tanks for nearly 20 years now. My first was a 2008 Roush Mustang 428R. I've never purchased any aftermarket caps but yours is pretty slick. Will I get one? Unlikely as I've never had an issue. I do like yours and it certainly won't hurt to use. I've ordered another diesel.
I had an aftermarket cap on my previous diesel truck for the sole reason of should anyone else drive it, I wanted to make it very clear that it takes diesel. Last thing I needed is someone borrowing the truck and thinking they’re doing something nice by filling it up with regular gas.
I have that on my Sierra and figure on doing the same once the Yukon arrives.
Same here. I found one on Amazon for like 6 or 7 bucks. Works perfectly. I'll guarantee you a whale of a lot cheaper than what that cap cost...
