Happened to me on my 2021 Tahoe HC while out in the woods earlier this year. Luckily, I had a Noco jump starter I carry with me. Highly recommend carrying one for this exact reason. You do need to remember to keep it charged though. As it turns out, I run into enough other people that need to use mine that it helps me remember to charge it.

I changed the battery a moment ago. There's a few extra steps involved to remove it, but it beats going to the dealership and getting charged $600 bucks. All you need is a socket wrench, 10" extender, 10mm, 13mm, and a flathead screwdriver.

Definitely that's the way to go. I do batteries myself, but at least here in Florida, just about all of the auto parts stores will install the battery for free if you buy it from them.

I have a Noco and a Gooloo or something from Amazon. When I check the Noco after a few weeks it's usually around 75% but the Gooloo is still full. I keep the Noco in my Son's 4 cylinder since it doesn't need as many amps to crank. We usually get around 5 years out of an OEM battery here in Houston so I haven't bought anything for the Yukon yet. Aftermarket batteries are lucky to last 3 years in this heat. I have had good luck with the Walmart AGM Platinum models though.

Not in southern California. Once you buy it, they want you off the property... Not loitering for an hour or so, making a mess in their parking lot.
