I'm trying but for the life of me I can't get the #55 sightclips to hook on to the rail on my 21 suburban. It's SUPER tight, I did get it but it wrinkled up the rubber padding and just seems like it's not working properly.

Wondering if anyone else had the same trouble and what you did to fix it?

I can't help with this -- but I'd love to see pics of the final product once you get it figured out.

Doesn’t look like the correct part to me. Are you sure it’s compatible with your model year?

I have a Thule and it fits perfectly around the roof rail.

How about a few similar pics but zoomed out a bit so we can see where the crossbar connects to the tower?

Not that I would know anything about these, but it almost seems like the towers need to be fixed to a narrower position.

With these you can slide the towers in and out... I set to the recommended specs for my vehicle per yakima and tried moving in and out a bit to see if that helped and it did not. I got them mounted but it was so tight the rubber is crumpled up out of the way (sorry it's raining here

Both Yakima and Thule have perfect fit parts for the correct model and year.
Here’s a better picture of the rail attachment for my Thule.

After you adjust the width, they go on very easy and fast.
I take them off until I need them and they store easily on a rack in my garage.
I never noticed any noise at highway speeds with the Thule and I think they are more aerodynamic and look better than the Yakima but it might just be my opinion.
Both Yakima and Thule are premium products with the best quality and it comes down to individual taste.

The Yakima should fit exactly to the roof rails just like the Thule.
These companies do not make
components that are not perfect fit.

In this picture I have my wife’s windsurfer and my wing board on the racks. The windsurfer is around 25” wide and 8’ long, the wing board is 6’ long and 29” wide.
I have also had 2 other surfboards on the racks with the windsurfer and wing board.

I forget the exact rack bar width but I know the Tahoe/Yukon can take a couple sizes depending on your needs.
I think I have the 65” width, I know there is a shorter one that just fits flush to the attachment foot but I wanted some extra width for securing tie down straps.
I think there is also an option for a taller foot to accommodate more space between the bar and the roof of the truck.

The online shop “E Trailer” is awesome for customer service and tech assistance for stuff like these roof racks.

I gotta take some new pictures!
These pics were taken way before
I changed the wheels and switched the chrome logos to black and it looks a lot better to me.
