Best radio I've ever had

Y'all I just wanted to brag... I am absolutely in love with my Boss stereo system... As far as I know my Tahoe still has the factory setup in it. That sucker hits hard! People ask me "ay, Brittany, what kinda system u got?" Hell yeah, u know Ryan Upchurch sounds so good in this thing!!!

Never knew that OE was Boss. Always thought it was Bose.

If you are very happy with it, that's all that counts. You've got a Boss Bose system.

As Joseph said, your opinion is all that matters.

I'm a stickler for sound quality and satisfied with my Bose system enough that replacing it has been bumped far down the list of priorities since upgrading the head unit with a Pioneer. I still want a decent subwoofer and will likely replace the mids and highs and run 'em off an amp. But I'm keeping the factory sub in place with anything I do for more fill of "lower mid-bass".

New radio head unit made HUGE improvement using my factory Bose amplifier and speaker system!

Boss BE7ACP and everything needed for plug and play install was about $380 all-in and shipped from Crutchfield and I am really impressed!

If you have the factory NAV radio, this Boss head unit will fit with plenty of room behind it. No dash cutting involved.

It really sounds great on the Bose speakers and the subwoofer is making enough thump for my taste. Great overall sound balance and clarity, which is the Bose trademark...

Our trucks already have a reverse trigger in the harness. Since I had Crutchfield do all the connections on the new harness connectors needed for install as part of their Ready Harness service, I did not have to do a thing. The radio already connects to the reverse trigger on the harness. No need to pull the dash apart to find the trigger.

When I ad my cam later this week, the only things needed are: 1) Run the Yellow tipped video feed wire up to the rear cam RCA connector on the back of the radio; and 2) Use a quick tap connector to tap 12V+ from the revers light wire in the tail lamp or underneath at the trailer tow harness to supply power. Done!

This was such an easy, affordable and quick upgrade that will make life on the road so much better!

Looks nice. I have a pioneer head unit in my car now. I really don't like it. Have the hardest time trying to adjust the sound quality. Had a Boss system in my Saab. It sounded awesome. Once I get all my mechinal issues iron out. Going to be grading to one of these with an new amp. Like your gauge setup.

Thanks! I like the look too! PO had decals applied and they didn't seem to cheap-out on anything, so there are no bubbles or wrinkles. I do have to pop the cluster to set needles to the correct resting position. They are all off a little before start-up, so speed is off by like 5-7 MPH, fuel and all the others are off a little. Been 15 months like it is, so I am not in a rush. Probably more like project for a nice spring day.

On the up-side... Makes it look like I am going faster than reality, so no speeding tickets for me!

For a while, on certain sounds, I would hear a speaker 'rattle'..... I finally figured it to be one of those ( useless?) tiny speakers mounted at the rear-hatch corner?...
But I was wondering if the original Bose speakers in the doors ( they look sort of cheap?).....
If there is a simple replacement door speaker that will reproduce the Bose system sound a little bit better, with out additional mods?

Those "speakers" in the back pillars are probably the HVAC temp sensors. Do you have the Automatic HVAC head unit?

No, those are speakers. And yes they should be Bose. It’s printed on the magnet on the back of the speaker.

If keeping the factory Bose amp, you would need to:
a) Replace speakers with original Bose speakers
-or-
b) Find non-Bose speakers that match the Bose speaker specifications.

Bose designed really efficient (power-wise) speakers as part of the integrated system with their amp. Since the speakers require less power and have lower impedance ratings than other speakers. For that reason, the Bose amp pushes less power.

In order for sound to come out as Bose intended, the speakers have to have the same impedance.

Otherwise, you are going to want to replace the Bose amp with an aftermarket amp to drive new aftermarket speakers that have higher impedance.

Aftermarket systems might drive louder and harder, but I am still a Bose man at heart. I have the 6 channel mini-cube/subwoofer home theater in my TV room and a couple of 301 bookshelf speakers in my living room. Quality and durability. The bookshelf speakers are almost 40 years old and still sound amazing! I have never needed repairs on any of them, but Bose factory headquarters is about 45 minutes down the MassPike.

Good write-up! I am one to keep everything mostly original, anyway.... ( Ain't broke- don't fix it)
I will just get Bose replacements...

If you can't easily source Bose originals from Ebay or whatever, give the techs at Crutchfield a call. They will be able to find you an aftermarket replacement that matches the impedance and other specifications for you to keep the rest of the system. They don't care if you buy today or six months from now... They are really willing to help figure out solutions that will work. They know their stuff too!

It's not a boss system.. That needs a correction.

Your are a boss, if you own a Bose Soundsystem..
