They are ebay housings that I stuffed MH1's into.
Was the retrofit easy because I have a set of MH1’s that are etched to look like eyes that I’m looking to use. I was going to open my Silverado headlights again and swap them in on a quad retrofit but decided nah.

Bought a few parts for the Tahoe the last few days: smooth black door handles and mirror caps to start on a chrome delete and I found an esky roof rack in the color I needed for $100. Still deciding on head and tail lights. I have half a can plus more silver birch metallic paint on order so now I’m trying to decide on how much to color match and what to leave as is. Actually I already know I’m painting the chrome on the roof rack and the mirror caps so the only question is the door handles. I can disassemble them and paint them. But I think I’ll install them black first just to see. I’m kind of busy this time of year so I might paint the handles another time. I just finished this border and raised veggie bed yesterday and my pond is coming along,

Just that the factory rocker bearings are stout. I’ve never read of one losing its needles since some early LS1’s had some problems with it. It’s a non-issue with the LS3 motors unless you’re running a huge cam.

I cut the connector off it, and split it out to each individual wire. Then I used heat shrink tubing on each wire end, and then folded it over on itself, and use a big piece of heat shrink tubing for the entire thing to make it completely waterproof.

I'll just add that I'm a fan of Richard Holdener, so take it with a grain of salt, but he's said that there's no reason to upgrade the trunions unless they have failed. He's basically a professional LS dyno tester, and if he's not particularly concerned while beating the tar out of junkyard turbo builds, I'm not worried.

Hi All - Appreciate your time reading this in advance. Below is my current purchased parts list for the DoD+VVT delete. Anything you see here I might be missing?

There are several styles of girdles for the oil pickup tube, where it connects to the oil pump, and those seem to be a good idea. Plus, they are cheap insurance.

The bushing on the shifter cable decided to take a dump today. Ground was scorching hot but I was able to limp it home using a small bungee cord I was able to buy at a U-Haul down the street
this will work, I recommend also adding a washer and cotter pin for a permanent fix, I just drilled a small hole in the nipplle for the cotter pin and it's been good for like 4yrs+ now

Again another day of not doing anything to Cracker but collecting parts.
Was up at the wrecking yard today and got some real floor mats, but they are tan so i need to dye them black after i clean them.
I also picked up these power running boards. Said they were working when the Escalade was put in the yard.

Also got THIS ordered today for the power running boards.
Really torn on ordering the wire harness for $175 bucks or making my own. Should be easy to make im sure and all i would need to order is the plug and pins.
HERE is the video that pushed me over the edge from thinking about it, to doing it. Controller new off eBay was $40 and steps were $50.
For that price, it's worth it to give this a go.

Good ~3 hours of work today: got the front cover off + P-side exhaust manifold. Moving onto the front diff drop -> oil pan removal phase next. I don’t see how you remove the oil pump without dropping the oil pan.

I’ll take heads off once I can get 30min no interruptions from kids. Continuing to ignore that rem. nut on D-side manifold lol.

struggling to decide what fuel pump to order. on rock auto oem for 300$ but doesn't come with the level sensor and float, they have DENSO for cheap has everything and Bosch I see some say the oem one had a Bosch sticker on, but I've had horrible luck with everything Bosch I've ever used.

ugh, I hate changing parts before they break because all new parts are junk these days but stuck on the side of the road a 1000 miles from home towing wouldn't be good either.

blah. half tempted to just replace the pump in the hanger only from a good source like deatschWerks or Aeromotive.

Have you looked at Herko? @Doubeleive seems to like their offerings:
