looks like there is enough market that someone finally made some re-pops of the hood/cowl hinge covers, the price is now half of what oem's cost
should drop to a even more reasonable price over time
Last time I looked, OEM weren't but a couple of bucks more...Dang, I guess the price I remembered was for EACH, not the pair. I guess that's why I haven't replaced mine yet.

I found these for cheap, but they say they only fit Silverado (specifically saying they don't fit SUVs):

I thought truck and SUV cowl panels were the same. Has anyone tried these? For $27 and a good return policy, I might just snag a pair to see.

Thinking about getting one of THESE
I like them on everything from 50s to 1999 but im not sure how it would look on a NBS
There's already a small one on the rear.

But, that one you linked looks..... uh, wrong.... with all the swoops and weird profile. If the top of it didn't look like a fork it'd be better.

i believe the pickup ones are different OR the passenger side may be the same but has a antenna hole...

Here is the last one i installed on my old camping rig. I would never use sheet metal screws.
I installed rivnuts sealed with B 1/2 sealant, then bolted it down with a little clear silicone on the threads.

Got my new (used) bumper cover on and it sure looks so much better!

Also, yesterday got new tires, BFG Trail Terrain T/A 275/65/18.
I'm also done messing with the suspension, so had it realigned. Tow was a little off but good now.
From center of wheel to top of wheel well in front it measures 23 1/4 and rear measures 24 7/16. Ended up with a 2 1/2 in spacer on the rear springs and 2 1/2 lower strut spacer on the front. After making about 6 different sets of rods, I finally had that right and an ALC reset.
With the new shock's, strut's and suspension components, Cracker now rides and drives amazing!! Now for the transmission.

Looks good! And honestly, if I had it to do over again, I wouldn’t bother with the trunion upgrade.

I've read mixed things online regarding it, but the parts were only $100 (I haven't opened it yet so could always return). What makes you say not worthwhile? Is the actual install of them in the rockers challenging?

2nd, there is a sensor at the very back middle of the existing VLOM tray - if you're looking at the firewall it is directly to the left of the vertical oil pressure sensor. What did you do with this plug at the firewall upon doing the Delete? The new engine valley cover does not have an input for that plug at the firewall side, only for the oil pressure sensor.

Just that the factory rocker bearings are stout. I’ve never read of one losing its needles since some early LS1’s had some problems with it. It’s a non-issue with the LS3 motors unless you’re running a huge cam.

I cut the connector off it, and split it out to each individual wire. Then I used heat shrink tubing on each wire end, and then folded it over on itself, and use a big piece of heat shrink tubing for the entire thing to make it completely waterproof.

I repurposed some of those wires when I added the physical ethanol sensor to take the place of the virtual sensor.

I lost four babies and my oldest butterfly Goldie to a Great Blue Heron this spring. Right after I cleaned the pond. I even had line set up to thwart them off. Since then, I have invested in a “pond tent” and a solar powered motion sensors automatic sprinkler. If it were legal to shoot them, he would already be in the freezer. The dober got close to eating him once already.

As for @Tonyrodz mentioning raccoons, that’s why I keep a large square piece of foam on the pond, along with aiding in adding some shade on the hot days. You can see the scratch marks where they have tried to get there. They like getting wet about as much as a cat does.

Edit: I guess you can’t abbreviate the word raccoons anymore. I didn’t realize that was a thing. Can we call them trash pandas or will that get blocked as well?
Its only Illegal if you get caught...how good of friends are your neighbors? lol

Ahh ok so you complete eliminated the connector. Makes sense as what it goes into appears to be related directly to the VLOM tray and that stuff. Thanks again for reviewing over my parts list!

I'll keep yall noted how it goes. I currently have 1 nut left to remove from each side of the manifold-to-Y-pipe connections, then I'll have cleaner access to remove the heads (planning to do the 1/4 turn at a time loosening each bolt method as trying to avoid further downtime of sending the heads to a machine shop). Radiator + water pump are out. Need to drop front diff so as to remove oil pan as well.
