Find a stock L92 camshaft. The stock 2007 6.2L L92 engine in my Denali makes gobbs of power. L92 built after April 1, 2006 didn't have AFM and does have VVT.
If you need a VIN# I'll give you mine.
Or call Summit Racing and see what they have.
L92 info here:

Did you keep everything pretty much stock or did you update lifters and springs as well
Found the cam its Pricey as much as the Cam Motions but its available immediately which is something I want since this is my daily and my beater currently is trying to Carbon Monoxide poison me as I drive

Ok so as I was looking at other posts i saw many people pointing at these cams and when I was looking at the specs there has to be a typo right? can a cam have a 350+ duration. I feel not even stage 3 cams have that!!! so the picture I shared the one on the right is for the l92 engine and the one one the left is for the L9H.
The website on all cylinders they are identical specs, the only difference is price so cheaper one here I come!!! lol

Camshaft part # for the L9H is 12623065, not 12711967 (left side picture).

Thank you all for your help.
I went with the L9H cam to save a few bucks and buy some other goodies to make this engine better and a future candidate to cam up and drop in in a resto-mod if the truck ever takes a dump.
I bought most of the goods on rock auto and Michigan Motorsports and I even splurged a little on needless, but because I can be so extra sometimes, extras like a stud kit the new LS6 Valve springs and the hollow stem valves. Now my wife can drag race the neighbors black escalade on her way to drop off the kids in school.
Ill keep you posted on this second adventure or rebuilding this engine.
Then I will swap my tahoe's rear end on this bad boy and swap the 4wd internals on the Denali's AWD bad boy to make her go go go. My 2002 turd has 3.73 gears, id bet this six speed would fly with that, the heck with the MPG!!!

Hello my fellow contributors on this DOD journey, so the Engine is out and dissembled. one of the AFM Lifters has a shiny spot on the inner corner (I'll show pictures later) the cam is not chewed up at all (I was expecting some carnage but it has some uneven wear patterns kind of odd. My camshaft Bearings are a bit discolored, I showed pics to my cousin (works for Toyota) and he says his recommendation is changing out the cam bearings, I was hoping not to touch the bottom end but I guess I have no choice so this DOD is sending me down a rabbit whole to taking every bolt right out.
Will the main caps be reusable if not damaged or is it better to just get all new bearings since everything will have to come off?
I will post pics shortly
Lordy Lord!!!

Is that a rebuilt engine? Factory cam bearings would show copper in the worn area. That cam bearing is in great shape if it's original.

Here are the picture of the only lifters that had some shiny spots almost like a shiny polished look. There the onky ones that stood out.

The valley cover and valve covers are painted?

This isn’t the first time this motor has had a lifter problem and it was probably rebuilt and put back together using AFM parts but didn’t properly address the cause of the failure.

There are electrical anomalies that can cause the AFM system to malfunction resulting in lifter failure. I understand this a mostly overlooked subject and I’m not well versed in it so I’m mostly speaking from memory but that can be a cause of reoccurring AFM lifter failure.

Those cam bearings look incredibly good so maybe it was rebuilt recently.

I painted the Valley cover and valve covers during COVID because I had an oil leak and the VLOM bolts were so loose i could turn them by hand.

Then my dumb a$$ broke a plastic connection on the VLOM so i had to buy new one and had extra paint.

I bought this car with about 80k miles and now has a bit under 180k. So I wonder if the previous owner had to have been a slob if that engine blew on him before me.

I even painted the 4 pot brake upgrade gm blue. Remember I mentioned I can be extra sometimes.

When I reconstructed my 02 Tahoe engine the mains and rod bearings had 285k and my Mechanic neighbor who tutored me couldn't believe they looked almost new.

So i guess its time to reassemble the rest and not mess with the bottom end. Although the wife gave the green light to redo the rest. "I know its going to bug you" is what she said. Thats as close to yes honey spend the money and buy the new bearings and ARP bolts

I think that pretty much debunks my theory, but the cam bearings look good. I've heard that main bearings are boring to look at because they always look perfect even with 200k

when I was searching around for cam bearings a few years back. I saw pics of what was supposedly a zero mile ls3 gm crate motor they pulled the cam to put a bigger one in and the cam bearings look worse than yours.

literally the best gm cam bearings I've ever seen pics of. your Toyota guy is right if it was anything else, I'd say change them.. an ls, not so much. one theory that kinda makes sense is gm has so much block shift, they line hone the cam tunnel after installing the bearings before assembly. I've seen pics of the crazy amount of core shift around the cyl liners, so it seems possible.
