yes. They are both the same input though... it is just a choice of connector.

the headphone jack is connected to my standalone DVD player.

the rcas are connected to the rear audio inputs I added in the 3rd row cubby.

As long as only one is on/connected at a time it isn't an issue.

I read the part (Common questions)
About being compatible with XM & 6 Disc Changer .

2 questions:

1) How about compatible with both at the same time? I was blasting through a different forum before I found this one and kept seeing that you would loose one of them with the various hook ups they were talking about.

2) Does it matter that my 6 disc changer is part of the radio and not a seperate unit?

as far as CDs & being able to put songs on the IPOD to negate worrying about this... I would still like both as I really dont want my wife's crud on my Iphone.

if you are talking about factory xm or factory 6 disc, there is no reported issue.

Now I have a unit that has a mini-jack and RCA inputs. The RCA put the aftermarket DVD player through the system and I plug my iphone into the mini-jack. The result in either case is lower volume than FM or CD and when the truck is shut off an annoying "buzz-talking" audio like the XM is bleeding through. No HU or wheel controls of course.

My setup also relies on a 3 position switch to select from DVD/XM/Mini-jack. From what I'm understanding that switch goes away and it will automatically switch between DVD/ipod/mini-jack, thus losing XM (which I don't subscribe to) but gaining a charging ipod/iphone charger.

If all my assumptions are true then I have just a couple more questions:

1. is the audio level thru the PXAMG comparable to other radio functions?
2. what happens if more than one device is in play at the same time?
3. will my iphone charge even when it's not being used?
4. is it compatible to the iphone 4G coming out in 2 months? (jking)

I'm seeing these for just over $100 online and think it'd be worth it if the answers to these questions are positive.

ok, so when you are looking at this interface there is what look to be bus or svideo looking ports as well as RCA jacks. I understand that the interface uses the molex plugs to go in between the factory harness and the factory radio, and that the ipod cable plugs in to one of the bus/svideo ports. But my question is what are the rca plugs on these interfaces for? Are they input or outputs? and what can I input to them if they are inputs? Say a Parrott blue tooth adaptor?
Or is there an interface that does bluetooth and ipod??
You talked me in to keeping my factory radio and ordering buttons (which saved me a ton of cash), so now the wife is complaining about no bluetooth and no ipod.
Thanks

The PXAMG does bluetooth and iPod, i just ordered it for my 2008 Tahoe!

The bluetooth is for iPhone 3G/3GS ONLY, though. What I'm sort of thinking is that you lose the hardwired connection to the interface, meaning you won't get to charge your iPod/iPhone, but it lets you stream music through the bluetooth with no wires. If that is the case then I will continue to use my iPhone's car charger, no big deal.

I will see when I get it, because I'm definitely posting a write up on it like this thread but for 07+ models!

Mine is going in an 04'Z71 Suburban with Bose/onstar/xm. And I am a non-iphone user. I am looking for the bluetooth for phone calls.
I have always been partial to Soundgate interfaces/loc's, the quality just seems to be top notch. So that being said, I am looking at this ipod interface....http://www.soundgate.com/index.php?...s&categoryid=301&productid=647&usereferrer=1&
And this bluetooth.....http://www.parrot.com/usa/products/bluetooth-hands-free-car-kits

I just do not know if they will work together. I know that the ipod adapter will work, and that the bluetooth adapter will work, but if I understand what you are saying, the PXAMG does both, but only for an iphone?? I will have to check it out. I was thinking that I could use the aux input on the ipod adapter for the bluetooth???

Oh, I was going by your username! Didn't know you were gonna install it on a previous generation.

The PXAMG as far as I can tell only does Bluetooth for an iPhone. I don't get why they limited it to just that, but it seems to be the case. And yes you could probably use the aux input with the bluetooth adapter as long as the adapter uses the same cable.

You said you tucked it in to the radio bay? By that do you mean you put it behind the head unit in that space?

How did you run the cables? Through the center console somehow? I was thinking of drilling a hole in the cubby between the power outlets in my '03 Yukon and running the iPod cable through that. Thoughts?
