IMG_20230902_154658_HDR.jpg cracked 152k. Original trans and motor. I dont think I ever changed the transmission fluid but also only towed a car or 2 over the years. Bought it with 40k :) ETA I thought about all the shit I hauled in the back of Betty over the years and she's snagged a couple times so it's not all been me and the mrs crusing. She's put in her share of duty.

How am I going to throw it a birthday party?
With my 03, on some of the original parts there was an actual date stamped on them. I do remember seeing an April 2003 date on the original radiator. I don't remember what the actual day was. Have any original parts under the hood? Also can check behind a panel (door panel)or maybe look for a tag under the seat, or under the dash. Should be something on a tag inside the interior.

Walked past it in the garage and noticed the left front tire is quite low. Will have to air it up before the next drive. No idea what shops charge for flat repair on this size tire.

CarFax shows first registration on 3/27/98 at 496 miles.

Where was it for six months and 500 miles? Sales Rep use?

Not that it matters. Just blathering.

Probably. I've heard about salesmen, or reps who are given the use of a new vehicle to drive for awhile. Kind of like a bonus for them. They'll use a dealer's plate, so it won't need to be registered.

This thing came with an aftermarket locking gas cap. I found I could turn the key to uinlock it and remove the key leaving it unlocked (which is what I wanted). But, I put a tag on the key and tossed it in the fold down armrest.

Went to gas up a couple of weeks ago and the cap wouldn't open ... locked. Took me a minute to remember the key was stored there. But for some reason it would no longer stay unlocked. Maybe it wasn't supposed to ?

Found a 'genuine GM' item with a tether ring on 'Zon and ordered it. Fits fine, but I'm hoping it's the right one and I won't have venting issues. GT 225, 15763225

I refreshed a 4L80e for my younger brother back in the Spring. He's doing a LQ4 swap into his 90 C1500 RCSB (that counts, right?) :) . Yesterday he finally took it out on his maiden voyage... said it shifts good!

I helped him on general LS swap information and the transmission. He did the heavy work and the wiring. Kinda proud of him. My Dad was never a car or truck guy. We learned by reading, watching videos and of course, getting our hands dirty and mistakes too. We're just DIYers.

Changed the oil on Betty today. On Saturday, in preperation I put some seafoam in the tank and crankcase and went out for my Italian tune up. I floor her in my usual 1/4 mile stretch and as she hits about 90 start getting a vibration. Check engine light starts blinking and I back off throttle. Vibration stops and light stays solid. By the time I get to get it scanned on Sunday it had gone out but a p0300 stored. No other issues starting or driving before or since. If it stays out until next oil change I'll see what the WOT does again.

Could be your cats causing the issue.

That woukdnt be good. Nothing else came up on the scanner so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
That's what happened with my 05 Express van. I got so many random misfires(P0300)that it eventually clogged one of my converters. Iirc there's 2 converters---so I just hollowed out the clogged one. No more random misfires.
